How To Choose A Chiropractor - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

There are many specialties within the medical field. Everyone hopes that they will not need the vast majority of these specialties, but there will inevitably be times when some event occurs that requires a special doctor. Eye doctors, hearing specialists, dentists, and chiropractors are among some the most commonly needed specialists. When an event arises that requires a person to seek out one of these specialties, it can seem like a daunting and complicated process. Thankfully, it does not have to daunting or complicated. There are certain things that should be looked at, considered, and decided before beginning the process of searching that will make the entire occurrence decidedly easier. When it comes to finding a chiropractor, there are several tips and general plans that will help immensely with the entire process. These tips and plans are exactly what you will find here.

The first step that you should take is to ask for recommendations. The first place to look for recommendations is with your regular physician. They will know what options are available locally and will be able to provide much-needed information and suggestions. Beyond a medical professional, you may want to ask for recommendations from close friends, family members, colleagues, or any other social circle. Another option is to post on your social media pages requesting recommendations. It is possible to make the request on any platform that allows text-only posts. Some platforms even have special forms and post types specifically made for asking for recommendations. Be sure to write all the recommendations that you receive so that you keep track of any duplicates or specifics. After you have obtained the recommendations, you will need to decide which ones you want to actively pursue. If you only have a few recommendations, it would be prudent to look into all of them. If you have many, you will need to find ways to narrow it down which will be difficult without much information. One of the best tools for narrowing down the list at this stage is distance. When most people give a recommendation, they include the location. this will give the opportunity to determine which offices are closest to you and which ones are farthest away. Generally speaking, people do not have a habit of choosing any type of doctors office that is located a great distance from their home. Another way to narrow down the possibilities is to move any office that received more than one recommendation to the top of the list in descending order.

After narrowing down your list of potential chiropractic offices, you will need to begin researching each one that is left to determine the pros and cons of each one. One of the first things that you should look into is whether or not they accept your insurance. Any time you visit any type of medical professional, the cost will be high and it can present serious difficulties if the person has to pay for it out of pocket. If cost is not an issue, this particular step will not be necessary; however, it is still a good idea to know what to expect as far as cost goes. There are a couple of different ways to find out is a given medical professional is covered by your insurance. You can contact your insurance company and inquire directly. Also, most insurance companies have a list on their website that you can access. It will give them the names of all physicians within a certain area in each specialty that is covered. If a doctor is not on this list, they are not covered. Another way to find out is to call the medical office and ask what types of insurance they accept.

The next step should be looking into the licenses and credentials of each chiropractor. This can easily be done by going to the website for your state’s licensing board. Not only will you be able to see the professional’s credentials, but you will also find information about qualifications and any disciplinary actions taken against that office or individual. Also, there should be some information on the practice’s website. This will often include any accreditations, awards, and many other important facts. The website will also contain other important information. This includes office hours and much, much more. When searching for a practice’s website, you should also look for reviews. There are several major review sites online where people can leave an open and honest review. These sites will provide a great deal of insight and information.

Once you have narrowed down your possibilities to only a few, there is another important to way to make a decision. Set up a consultation with each possibility and see which one you click with. Some things to look for our time spent with you during the appointment, bedside manner, attention to details, attitude, and so much more. Sometimes, regardless of how highly recommended a practice is,  it will not always be a perfect fit. For one reason or another, some people will not fit well with a specific practice.

This final tip is dedicated to basic internet searches revolving around finding out how many chiropractors are in your area. Sometimes it is not possible to get recommendations, other times that is simply not enough. In these cases, the best course of action is to search the internet for listings in your area. Of course, there may be some practices that do not have a website, particularly in smaller areas. This is why it is also a good idea to browse the local phone book for ads and listings. When searching online, you will need to use specific keywords to find exactly what you are looking for. Be sure to add the type of medical professional that you are looking for, in this case, a chiropractor. Also, be sure to add the name of the city or town you are located in. It is always to best to use the browser and search engine that you are most familiar with to get the best results. This is because you already know the peculiarities of the tools and how to get the best results.

Why Time Management Skills Are Important in Academic Writing - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

If you have an academic paper to write, you need to start planning early. Academic writing is among the toughest tasks you will undertake in college because of the amount of research required and the precision needed to support your arguments. There is no way around writing academic papers because your professor expects only the best to evaluate your critical thinking skills. At this point, the most important MBA essay help you leverage is proper time management. You have so much going on in your life when in college and with an academic project added to the mix, things become more hectic. Luckily, you can overcome all this through effective time management. This article highlights the importance of good time management and how to go about it. Keep reading.

  1. Get Enough Time for Extensive Research

While time is a scarce resource in college, it is possible to use it and complete extensive research for your paper. The best academic paper requires in-depth research and with the little time available in college, only the best time management strategy can help you out. By scheduling available time and slotting time for research every day, it is possible to come up with a winning essay. You will find it easy to compile the best academic paper after collecting prerequisite materials.

  1. Reduce Stress Levels

Many students today complain about stress and this has become a major topic of debate in the education sector.  While students have a lot of work to complete after class, the teachers always consider available time. For most students, procrastination is the main problem and it leads to a last-minute rush to complete all assignments which inadvertently leads to unmanageable high-stress levels.

By utilizing available time smartly, you can avoid high-stress levels which can impact your health even after college. Make sure you list all pending assignments, prioritize your responsibilities and always get started on every task early. Avoid rushing to meet deadlines because this will cause health problems.

  1. Submit a Winning Academic Paper

Academic writing is not easy and most students are in a rush to complete their projects and move on to something else. However, you can write a powerful academic paper if you manage your time properly.  This allows you enough time for research, drafting, formatting, editing, and proofreading.

If you schedule time for your academic paper, chances are your efforts will reflect on the quality of the project. Many professors guide students to start charting their thesis early in college based on the quality of work they submit. If you wish to further your studies in a particular field, make sure you dedicate enough time to every academic paper you write. This will make life easier for you when writing your thesis or even a dissertation in the future.

  1. Learn a Crucial Life Skill Early

Many people go through life in a state of panic because they can’t manage their affairs. For instance, two workers tackling the same amount of work can have a completely different approach to the task and the outcomes will reflect this.

One worker will plan the task, allocate time and start working on the project early enough which in turn leads to a successful project. The other employee will wait till the last minute and rush through the project only to deliver shoddy work.  It boils down to time management skills which you can hone when writing your academic papers at school.

  1. Create a Good Reputation with Faculty

Most college students underestimate the power of faculty members and they come to appreciate it too late in the day. Your professor can make or break your career move many years after you leave college. A good word from your professor can go a long way in boosting your career progress.

At times, you need these professionals for academic guidance even after leaving college. By always submitting your work on time, you will build a good reputation and you can bank on this to get assistance in the future. If you want to create a good name among the faculty, learn how to manage time and you will always be in the good books of your teachers.

  1. Find the Perfect Balance of School and Life

An academic writing project need not lead to a panic attack. Most students have a hard time balancing school life and social life.   When the professor gives out an academic writing task, this disorganizes their routine and causes a lot of distress. However, you can create a perfect balance in your college life through proper time management. You only need to allocate enough time for every activity in your daily life and stick to the schedule.

Writing an academic paper is no hard after all; you only need to manage available time properly. You can also use an established article writing service to complete the task faster and without the usual accompanying stress.

How to Localize Your Design Software - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

$

Software development companies that want to sell and market their products in other countries face the challenge of ensuring their products are relevant and useful to all of their customers. That takes more than translation. It means creating software that meets the unique needs of the target customer. When it comes to design software, there are unique goals and needs to be considered. Below are some points to be considered.

First Consider The Types of Design Software in Your Package

The first step you’ll want to take is to inventory the type or types of software that you are offering. Are you solely focused on a single type of software? Is your package more of a ‘suite’ that offers multiple functionalities, and is marketed to people in multiple fields?

Next, will you be offering the entire suite to your new market, or will you cherry pick based upon market research and consumer demands? Once you know if you’re going to be marketing Autocad, prototyping, modeling, or other types of design software, you can begin to do a bit of research and competitive analysis. What are the trends in these niches? What kind of content are your competitors sharing that is getting good engagement.

Keep in mind that localization also means ensuring that your software meets regulatory standards, and that your technical and support materials are easy for your target audience to understand. By knowing exactly what you plan to offer your new audience, you can plan to localize all documentation.

Finally, don’t forget that design software also includes complementary software that is marketed to design professionals. This includes:

  • Financial Software
  • Contract Management and Legal Software
  • Document Management Apps and Software
  • Payroll and Accounting

Anything that you market will need to be localized. Know what is involved so that you can best manage the scope of this project.

Identify The Unique Concerns and Goals Regarding Design Software Localization

When you localize any software packages, there are essentially two layers of concerns you have to deal with. The first relates to the tasks that are common in every localization project. This includes ensuring that content is culturally sensitive, and that cultural references are edited, so they are meaningful to the target audience.

The second layer deals with the unique concerns and goals that relate specifically to software design localization. This includes:

Gaining an Understanding of Local Design Trends, Tastes, and History

Local culture and history can have a big impact on design trends. The designers you are marketing to may have clients with completely different tastes than your current market. History in a region, especially as it relates to art and architecture can impact tastes and expectations. It’s imperative that the localization process includes conducting research to gain sufficient understanding of these things.

Localizing User Interfaces, Manuals and Online Help

Consider apps and websites that are popular in the region you are considering. This can give you some valuable information regarding user expectation of interfaces, as well as online help resources.

Changing Units of Measure and Currencies Where Needed

If currencies and other symbols are prominent in your content, these will need to be localized. Depending on the amount of content that you plan to localize, this process can be pretty time-consuming.

Taking DBCS and Bi-Directional Language Requirements into Consideration

This can be a very complicated undertaking. If you’re expanding into countries such as China or Japan, your products will need to be able to handle double byte character sets, and bi-directional language requirements.

Including Localization Planning in Maintenance and Updates

Just like you update documentation and inline content, you will need to update localized content whenever your design software is updated.

Adhering to Local Customs Regulations and Standards

Designers frequently have to adhere to certain standards and regulations. Some of these are driven by the specific industry they are in. Others are set by local and national governments. Design software has to be modified to ensure that they are able to operate within these standards. Again, significant research is required to accommodate this.

Finding Help from Qualified Experts

Localization pros who are qualified to help you with your design software will have a combination of skills that you need. First, they will have language mastery and cultural understand. They should also have software development and design expertise in order to successfully bring a project like this to completion. To outsource something of this magnitude, and get results you can trust, consider a company like The Word Point that offers translation and localization services for software companies.

Remember that this is an emerging field. To source qualified help, you will need to do some due diligence as you research professionals. In addition to this, keep in mind that this isn’t work that you can simply pass along the outside contractor. You’ll need to be an active participant in the process. There is a significant amount of work that goes into preparing software for localization. You’ll need to edit your existing documentation and other content, for example. You’ll also have to select which pieces you want to focus on. In many instances, you may not want to localize all content at first.

Finally, this isn’t a static process. Localization is something that is ongoing. With future updates and modifications, you will want to revisit this process. It’s also something that needs to be considered when you expand into new markets in the future. Also, just as you consider local changes in tastes, cultural events, and emerging consumer demands, you have to track these in your new markets as well.

Concluding Thoughts

In addition to the usual localization tasks, design software producers have very specific items they need to consider when preparing their products for localization. The same is true for any supplemental content such as documentation, ad content, and social media content. Ideally, the localization process begins in the early stages of product design and development. The steps outlined above should help developers navigate this complex process a bit more easily.

Odor Eliminators: Natural Versus Chemical

$

While there are many differences among the human race, there is one thing that is universal for anyone living in a house, apartment, or any other structure; cleaning. Carpets have to be vacuumed, shelves need to be dusted, toilets need to be swabbed, counters need to be wiped off. The list is endless. There are multiple products currently on the market designed to clean each different part of the house. Some cleaners are designed for fabrics, some are designed for wood, others are designed for glass, others are for metal, more still is made for dishes. Not to mention all of the tools that are available to use when cleaning your home. All of these different cleaners are comprised of a mixture of chemicals. This is why many people choose to use all natural cleaners instead, to avoid being exposed to all of those chemicals contained in store-bought cleaners. Other people do not feel that the natural cleaners do not have the ability to clean as well as the chemical ones. The question is, which type of cleaner really is the best? Here, we will compare all of the pros and cons of both natural cleaners and chemical cleaners.

The first type of cleaners that we are going to discuss is natural cleaners. First, consider the benefits of using natural cleaners. Using natural cleaners means that you are not having to risk inhaling harmful fumes. It also means that any surface that you use them on will be safe to touch while it is still wet. Also, there is no fear if a child or pet gets into the cleaner. There is also no concerns as to whether or not the product will be harmful to the area where you are applying it. Spills, splashes, aromas, and even ingestion do not have to be concerning and scary. Of course, as with anything, there are downsides as well. Some natural cleaners such as vinegar have an unpleasant smell which may seem contradictory to odor elimination.

Next, consider the benefits of chemical cleaners. First, some chemical cleaners are designed to be incredibly tough and as such, they will remove deep stains and otherwise deep clean wherever you need it. Because of this, these cleaners can remove dirt that is deep down. There are quite a few potential downsides to using any type of chemical.  Breathing the fumes that most chemicals produce is potentially dangerous when breathed in. Many people choose to wear a face mask such as contractors or surgeons use. However, many people do not use a mask or any other method to protect themselves from the fumes. Ventilation is also an issue when cleaning with chemicals, it is always best to open a window or enable built-in ventilation systems. Chemicals also pose a threat where children and pets are concerned.

Now, on to how all of these things relate to eliminating odors. There are many places in the home where smells often develop. Garbage cans hold a great many smells from all of the refuse that gets put into it. Bathrooms often develop odors due to the nature of the most common activity performed in the room. Also, most bathrooms have a garbage can that produces smells, not to mention wet towels, shower curtains that are not properly dried, and leaky pipes or spigots. Pets of all types in the home also cause odors of various natures, depending on the type of pet. Small mammals or reptiles have cages that must be cleaned regularly, felines have litter boxes that must be cleaned, dogs often roll in mud or splash in puddles, birds have cages, the list goes on and on. Each one of these smells needs to be handled in a unique way, which means they each need a separate type of cleaner. Some smells are caused by bacteria which means that a disinfectant will also be needed to truly combat some smells.

Here are some common and effective cleaners of both varieties and where they are best used.

Natural Cleaners

  • Vinegar – This is a fantastic deodorizer and disinfectant. This is a great cleaner to use on kitchen counters, coffee pots, ovens, microwaves, refrigerators, stovetops, sinks, and many other areas. This substance has a strong smell when using it; however, the smell completely disappears when it dries along with other unwanted smells on the surface.
  • Baking soda – This is a great natural cleaner for stains. This is because it has the ability to reach way down into fabrics, carpet, etc. and reach the very depths of the stain. It is also great to set inside refrigerators and freezers to absorb odors that occur. This can include anything from rotten food to certain cheeses or onions.
  • Essential oils – This is a wonderful way to clear the air of bad smells. There are two ways to use essential oils to get rid of odors. The first is to use a diffuser which will release the oil and therefore the scent into the air. The second way is to fill a spray bottle with warm water and add several drops of an essential oil, shake gently to mix. Once that is done you can spray the mixture into the air or onto fabrics or carpet. You can spray curtains, furniture, the interior of a car, or into the air. Although, you should refrain from spraying dog beds or anywhere that a dog frequently lays or sits. There have been some studies that suggest canines are often allergic to essential oils.

Chemical Cleaners

  • Febreze – This is one of the top-rated chemical odor eliminators currently on the market. There are several versions of this particular product. Some are specifically for removing unpleasant smells from the air and replacing them with nice scents. Others are designed to spray onto carpets, couches, recliners, curtains, car seats, and many other places. Within these two types, there are versions made for reducing allergens, improving sleep areas, reducing specific smells, and much more.
  • Carpet refresher – There are many different brands of this product. The way it works is you sprinkle the powder on to the carpet and let it sit for around 10 minutes. After you let it sit, you vacuum it up. not only does it absorb into the carpet and remove deep down dirt, but it also eliminates smells trapped in the carpet. This is a very simple to use cleaner and there are versions designed just for pet owners. This does not mean that the product is in any way safe for the pet to lick or consume, but it will not hurt them to be near it.
  • Toilet drops – This product is specifically designed to eliminate toilet odors. Again, there are many different brands in many different price ranges. To use this type of product, simply squeeze a few drops into the toilet bowl before it is used and the product traps and eliminates smells.

Translation Services in Eastern European Countries

Europe being a vast area of concern of many officials holds excellent colors of different European languages. Europe is the home for 24 languages (Danish, Dutch, English, German, Swedish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, and Spanish) termed as official and serving so the wise decision, and deep root towards the translator is suggested.

Europe is a profitable market for businesses to invest in. Therefore, several companies plan to cross their business boundaries in different cities and markets within Eastern Europe. Always keep in mind that you cannot relate to the desired market unless you communicate like a local brand to them. This primary passion calls for the ultimate need for quality translation in Eastern European countries, as it paves the way for effective communication. So, if you are looking forward to global success, you need to focus on translating your certificates.

Interesting Facts about European Languages

Albanian is one of the problematic European languages, as nodding your head indicates ‘yes’ and shaking hands indicates ‘no.’

The Bulgarian language uses a particular grammar tense that is used in situations when a person tells a story, which is not individually seen but just heard.

The Georgian term ‘Shemomedjamo’ can’t be translated into English.

English is not just an international language, but also a significant European language that gets a new word formed every 98 minutes.

For several non-Europeans, it is a common misnomer that knowing the English language is enough for communication in Europe. But there are a considerable number of European countries where several people don’t understand English. Hence, the need for European Languages Translation occurs on a consistent basis.

Birth Certificate Translation

A birth certificate is an essential document, it includes the necessary information and is asked in critical manners including but not restricted to matters related to jobs, inheritance, education, immigration and visa among others. So apparently the absence of birth certificates has the potential to generate serious problems in an individual’s life.

Problems can also be formed when an individual does have a birth certificate, but it’s in a language which the processing authorities cannot understand. Say a European citizen applies for a Green Card in the US; though, his birth certificate is in the Russian language. In such a case he must get it translated in English to smoothen the official process of Green Card application.

Why Birth Certificate Translation in Eastern European Countries?

Several organizations require birth certificate translation for many reasons including legal, visa departments, employment firms, processing, immigration, university applications, passport offices, and much other government official use.

And about any one of these reasons be it a marriage abroad, or studying or working in another country demands a professional translation.

If you are appealing for Immigration, PR, or Visa, to any foreign country, you should get your birth certificate translated to English or the official language of the country you are applying for. Because this is the most basic and most significant certificate which is required by Embassies at the time of Visa process and next on once you reach that country it is again needed several times for formal use in different countries.

In the U.S., USCIS and other organizations need birth certificates to be translated into English. You cannot translate the document yourself if you are the applicant or the beneficiary of the appeal. The USCIS requires a certified, professional translator does the translation. The translator must provide his/her name, signature, address, and the date of certification to comply with USCIS requirements.

Also, birth certificates are often needed to obtain a marriage license. Many couples find it romantic to get married in another country, and having a critical service translate birth certificates before traveling is one way to make the international formality go smoothly.

Professional Translators Know How to Handle Your Birth Certificate

Because birth certificates are legal records that establish identity, it is even more essential that the translator takes good care in translating the certificate and in making sure that the translation meets the source text as precisely as possible. Not doing so might appear the risk of denial of the certificate and delays in the academic or government process.

In addition to these elements, translations of birth certificates usually must be certified. Certified translations in Eastern European countries need a signed declaration confirming that the translator is skilled in the target and source languages and able to translate the certificate. If there are any mistakes in the translated certificate, you can expect them to cause stops in the process until a precise, correct translation can be provided.

Usually, birth certificates must be translated in a form that consistently matches the original certificate for easy identification. It must include all of the information that appears in the original with any text that is not clearly shown as such.

Emerging Technology Trends To Disrupt Commerce in 2018

Disruptive tech is changing supply chains and retail at a super-fast pace. Stay ahead of the game with these emerging technology trends of 2018.

With the average small business now spending $75,000 a year on digital marketing, digital tech and services are taking up a lot of space in every company’s budget. If you’re not following emerging technology trends, you’re going to be struggling to find footing in the field later on. Getting ahead of disruptive retail technologies now can give you a leg up.

Here are four ways that emerging technology is going to change commerce in the coming years.

1. Virtual Assistants and Smart Devices

As voice-controlled smart devices like Amazon’s Alexa have become pervasive, search is changing. The rise in popularity of these devices has made web designers and marketers have to reconsider their approach. When users deploy a search with these devices, it looks nothing like it did in previous years.

What voice control devices are looking for is “natural language processing” that can make use of searches and requests made by users. If users have a stronghold of a language, they should be able to speak colloquially into these devices to get what they want. When a user speaks a local language as their second language, they should still be able to use these search devices with ease.

Your customers could be using smart devices to make orders and you need to be able to respond flawlessly.

Voice-controlled assistants have been in the business world for years. With improvements in technology, digital assistants are both intelligent and predictive. They can adapt to changes in your work environment and streamline a lot of processes.

With Amazon developing an “Alexa for Business” model, we should see some exciting developments that will change the way you do business. The way your customers order is changing and so that way you respond needs to match that as well.

2. The Rise of Chatbots

On almost every commerce site you visit, a little virtual chatbot initiates that can take orders and answer questions. While it might seem like a pretty heavy lift for every commerce site to employ 24/7 customer service, chatbots employ a bait and switch.

The feeling that customers are being listened to can make them feel engaged and excited about your brand. Most customers will ignore and close the chatbot when it opens.

However, if your customers have an issue using your site or looking for the product they need, they can make use of the chatbot.

Chatbots come in different sizes and shapes. Some chatbots will send an automatic reply to various questions that customers ask and then when they hit a dead end, send them to a response form. Others will connect to an answering service where a real human can respond to questions with a basic understanding of how the company works.

Both the technology and the level of engagement fro answering services have become more sophisticated. As they both improve, customer service will be more accurate and engaging for your site’s visitors.

Engagement is the name of the game in emerging technology and finding new and inexpensive ways to engage users is a smart way to do business.

3. Immersive and Mixed Reality

One of the most interesting ways that companies are engaging with their users is through augmented reality and virtual reality. The makers of Pokemon Go introduced the world to a type of mixed reality that integrated live cameras, GPS info, and technology from their app. Together, users could engage with the actual world they’re immersed in via the lens of a company or a brand.

In the world of commerce, more time spent in augmented reality could entail the use of GPS info to deploy well-targeted ads. In the world of industrial design and architecture, customers can walk through concepts and designs in real time. In retail, customers could virtually browse shops and look at products, regardless of what’s in stock at their local brick and mortar store.

When users walk down the street, using an augmented reality application, competitors could buy ad space surrounding a brick and mortar store. Before users come upon a big box pharmacy, an independently owned and operated one could send notifications as visitors walked by. Augmented reality could get overrun with advertisements, but it could also help small businesses.

4. Digital Vision

If you have a car made in the last decade, it’s likely that there’s a camera mounted on the back to tell you when you’re about to hit something. Most of them will beep when they’re about to hit something and let you know when you’re too close to objects.

With this kind of tracking, the commerce world has taken notice. With similar technology mounted to shopping carts or even in our phones, sensors can tell what our shopping habits are. While digital retailers are able to predict what we want based on our shopping habits, this new technology can predict what we want based on how we move.

Industrial shipping and package delivery services are taking advantage of the kind of AI available with digital vision. While it’s hard to find the right engineers, there is technology in development to streamline shipping and delivery. By using GPS, traffic data, and cameras, we’ll see self-driving delivery trucks that can avoid accidents, traffic, and fatigue.

Emerging Technology Trends Will Change Commerce Forever

Just as the internet itself changed the way we do business, emerging technology trends are going to leave an indelible mark. If you learn about how each of these trends could affect your business, you won’t be left in the dust when that trend becomes the norm in your industry.

Debt Relief: What Are Your Options?

$
0
0

In Canada, there are a number of commonly used ways to get out of debt.  Each consolidation option has pros and cons, and which is best for you may not be the best option for someone else.  We have provided a brief summary of each option in this article to hopefully help make things easier for you.

1. Debt Consolidation Loan

A debt consolidation loan is where a finance company, such as a bank or a credit union, provides you with the money to pay off all of your debts.  They then consolidate all of your debts into one affordable monthly payment and require you to pay this back monthly until the debt is cleared.  The fees involved in this kind of service are generally low, and it removes the need to speak to your creditors and the anxiety this involves.  It’s wise to note that unsecured debt consolidation loans often come with high interest, so they are not always the best option.

2. Consumer Proposal

A consumer proposal is a government-run debt relief option.  Administered by a licensed insolvency trustee, consumer proposals were introduced to try and reduce the amount of debt settlement activity happening throughout the country. In this, you will be expected to repay around 1/3 of what you owe, although the figures do vary depending on your circumstances.   There are no costs to pay, unlike with traditional debt consolidation, and a consumer proposal has the same effect on your credit score as a debt management plan.  You can learn more here.

3. A Line of Credit/Credit Card

If you only have a small amount of debt to pay, a line of credit/credit card may be your best option.  They are, however, quite difficult to qualify for unless you have a good income and a good credit score.  That said, if you do qualify, it will give you the freedom to pay your debt off in your own time as the minimum monthly payments provide great flexibility.  But, if you aren’t disciplined enough to pay back your debt, you could end up in even more debt than you started with.

4. Ask Family and Friends

Another option is to ask family and friends if you could borrow the money from them and then repay them at an agreed time.  It’s best not to be too annoyed, though, if they refuse.  Lending money to friends can cause a lot of problems if the debt is unable to be repaid, and not everyone can comfortably forgive the money they have lost if you are unable to make repayments.  This can cause irreparable damage to a relationship.  With that said, though, if you do have someone who is willing to offer you the money, it is a step worth considering.

Which debt relief option is best for you will depend on the amount of debt you owe, your current income and credit score, and how close you are to bankruptcy.  Don’t be afraid to get personal advice before making a choice.

Harness Intent Data to Punch Up Your B2B Marketing

$

These days, sales people have a more difficult job than ever because buyers have generally made up their minds about what they want to purchase before they ever speak to a salesperson. That’s just as true in B2B sales as it is in B2C sales. But while B2C markets long ago figured out how to harness the value of intent data to punch up sales and give their campaigns everlasting life, B2B marketers are just now learning how to wring marketing value out of intent data.

What is intent data? It tells you what purchases your customers are considering and what they might be planning to do next. B2C marketers use intent data to gain insight into the behaviors and potential purchasing decisions of individual consumers, but B2B marketers can use it to gain that same level of insight into the behaviors of corporate customers. Let’s take a look at what intent data is and how you can apply it to your B2B marketing campaigns.

Understanding Intent Data and Its Value to Marketers

Most B2B marketers are focusing on account-based marketing, or ABM. That’s possible because of the wealth of data that’s available to marketers. As the internet and digital technologies become more and more central to our everyday lives, people and corporations create more and more data — at an average rate of 2.5 quintillion bytes a day. This massive amount of data is a goldmine for customer intention.

B2C and B2B marketers do use intent data differently. When individual consumers visit online retailers, look at specific product listings on Amazon, post about products or activities on social media, watch certain videos or read certain articles or books, B2C marketers can make inferences about what purchases they may make in the future.

But corporate buyers don’t put 1,500 new MacBook pros into an online shopping cart and then leave them there while they mull over the decision. Nor are corporate purchasing decisions usually the province of a single employee. They’re typically made by committee, but they often share one crucial similarity with consumer purchasing decisions: They’re typically already made by the time the customer speaks to the sales representative.

That’s why intent data is so valuable. B2B intent data allows sales representatives to step in during the decision-making process — and influence it. Intent data can signal when corporate customers are considering a purchase and what purchases they’re considering. It can also allow you to triangulate the company, individual and role, so you can send coherent sales messages to the right people at the right times.

How to Use Intent Data in Your B2B Marketing Campaigns

Before you can use intent data in your B2B marketing campaigns, you have to gather it. You can follow these steps to gather the data you need:

  1. Use sources like 6Sense or Bombora to obtain intent data relevant to specific search terms. These sources will tell you what companies in what locations are searching the terms relevant to your campaign.
  2. Figure out who initiated those searches at the company or companies you’re targeting, and then look for those people in your marketing database.
  3. Use sources like DiscoverOrg or LinkedIn to develop other contacts at the company.
  4. Target these individuals with social content, emails, digital ads and other campaign elements relevant to the search data you found.
  5. Don’t procrastinate contacting those who engage. Make contact while the intent is still fresh — within one to two weeks.

The person or people you make contact with may not have the power to make the ultimate purchasing decision, but they may still have influence. Keep in mind that you want to identify and reach out to people who haven’t yet taken overt steps toward making a purchasing decision. You don’t want to creep your potential contacts out, either; be careful not to make it sound like you’ve been stalking people online. “We noticed you were interested” is a better way to phrase things than “I noticed you were searching for” — unless, perhaps, your audience is tech-savvy and potentially uses intent data themselves.

If you’re not using intent data in your B2B marketing campaigns, you’re missing out on a valuable resource that can significantly improve the effectiveness of your strategy. Intent data gives you the chance to speak to customers before they make purchasing decisions, so you can influence those decisions and offer solutions to your customers’ problems at the same time.

How Renewable Energy is Helping Small Businesses Grow

$

Our whole plant is in the midst of an energy revolution. As the effects on anthropogenic climate change become undeniable, we are left with the tightening realisation of just how much of the damage we see around us we are actually responsible for. All of us individually could certainly have done more on our own initiative to keep the planet in the kind of condition we hope to one day pass it on in. Collectively, even though many of us are aware of our obligations on an individual level, we have proven completely ineffective at inspiring and perpetuating large-scale change.

But we don’t have to wait for the rare outpouring of unity and consolidation that made it possible to sign the Paris Accords in order to engage meaningfully in the renewable energy debate. Even on the smallest scales, renewable energy and an ecologically-conscious approach to your business overall can bring numerous benefits.

Let’s take a look at some of the key advantages to small and medium sized enterprises from a greener overall ethos.

Free Marketing

This is one of the most important considerations any business needs to make when they are weighing up the pros and cons of a greener approach.

Consumers today care a great deal more about the environment than they once did. This is true for all of society. But with global warming becoming a hot button issue, one which can no longer be ignored, people are turning to businesses themselves to act responsibly and take the lead in shifting attitudes away from fossil fuels and towards renewable resources.

As a result, customers now gravitate towards businesses that are more ethical, and able to demonstrate their social conscience. Whether they do this through choosing suppliers who adhere to certain standards, or they do it by ensuring that a certain fraction of their proceeds ends up benefiting good causes, there are plenty of options available.

Find out what environmental and other groups operate in your local area and what steps you can take to be affiliated with them in some way. Sometimes, something as simple as adding their logo to your website or merchandise can pique the interest of someone who would otherwise have passed you by.

Saving Money

Be embracing the philosophy of recycling, repurposing, and reusing wherever possible, you can ultimately end up saving your business a lot of money. It is with little things, like changing your lighting, that you can often make the biggest savings. Consider whether an LED lighting upgrade for your office might help to reduce your costs and also boost your eco-credentials.

If you can, get all of the employees within your business to get into the habit of turning off electronic appliances that aren’t in use, making sure that power isn’t being wasted on lights and other fixtures being run when they don’t need to be. Motion sensors are good for this purpose because they ensure that lights will only power on when they are actually needed.

Future Proof

Going green is a smart business move for any business to make. Whether you are just starting out and looking for ways to keep your overhead costs as low as possible, or you are an established business who needs to work on their image, you cannot afford to overlook the potential that is offered by being seen to be green. You will also be putting yourself on the cutting edge as far as new technology is concerned.

If you want to break into the elusive youth market and come out swinging, you need to find ways to communicate with them. One of the most sure-fire ways to win the support of the youth is through environmentalism.  Take the steps towards renewable energy and watch how it helps your business to grow.

Data Scientist: Disclosing the Profession of Tomorrow

$
0
0

Despite being very profitable, data analysis is a rather ungrateful career choice to be pursued. Sometimes it requires almost an impossible level of execution from a specialist – scavenging through the vast amounts of data and then coming up with the best solution. Not every scientist can combine wise analytic skills with smart thinking and sharp decision making all at once. As a result, data scientists are forced to have a number of challenges and face them every day.

An interesting survey has been made by Kaggle where they asked over 16,000 respondents the following question: “At work, which barriers or challenges have you faced this past year?”. Results were the following:

  1. Dirty data (36% reported)
  2. Lack of data science talent (30%)
  3. Company politics (27%)
  4. Lack of clear question (22%)
  5. Data inaccessible (22%)
  6. Results not used by decision makers (18%)
  7. Explaining data science to others (16%)
  8. Privacy issues (14%)
  9. Lack of domain expertise (14%)
  10. Organization small and cannot afford data science team (13%)

Results also have revealed, that the average amount of challenges that one specialist can experience is around three, but drastically varies from position to position. Predictive Modelers and Data Scientists can face up to four challenges, where Programmers usually face only one.

Baring everything in mind, I decided to look at some of the most common challenges, discuss them and maybe even try to come up with a working solution.

Dirty Data

In order to get a solid analysis, you will obviously need to gain access to the solid kind of data. Getting this access can prove to be both challenging and time-consuming. Common issues range from the insufficient level of data to the less variety in the kind of data. Data is often can be spread unequally between various types of business, meaning that laying hands on all of it can become very difficult.

Director of data and analytics at Snowflake, Scott Hoover, says that “the overwhelming majority of effort a typical data scientist puts forth has to do with creating a clean data set with useful information, all before any of the compelling machine learning or statistical models can be applied. This is the part of the job that’s almost considered an art or a craft. Just like any artist or craftsperson, there’s untold effort that largely goes unnoticed when viewing the final product.”

Thoughts: Data Scientists need to expert data management system, as well as other forms of information integration tools. Various data integration programs can also help to connect with external data sources to get their internal insight perspective of the overall workflow.

Lack of data science talent

Data Scientists should not try to achieve everything at once, but rather narrow their skills and professional focus onto one specific area. At the same time, they need to have a domain knowledge and gain a subject matter expertise. Another challenge pops up when they need to later apply this knowledge to a concrete business solution. Since Data Scientists can be viewed as a metaphorical bridge between top management and IT department, domain expertise is crucial for conveying the needs of management to the IT Department.

Jim Polk, CTO at Elinext states the following: “Data Science is a multi-directional phenomenon in its essence that puts together all kinds of knowledge elaborately knitted. A Data Scientist is an expert who self-develops creative thinking and rely on multiple tools and approaches.”

Thoughts: Data scientists should pay close attention to the business requirements, as well as improve their technical and statistical tools. They should be understanding the problems of business at hand, getting valuable insights and analyzing and modeling a suitable solution. And do not stick to one work model behavior – flexibility of approach is often a key to finding an optimal solution.

Lack of clear question

This is proved to be one of the major issues, that people in the industry face constantly since in order to properly analyze something and on top of that come up with a working solution, you need to be able to define and understand its every aspect. Data scientists not only should think about “how”, but also “why” things should be done this way – it is not a random “sifting through data to find a connection” type of work. Many are sadly opt for the mechanical approach and are ready to work with all the data sets, without first understanding both business and client requirements.

Chief scientist at SnapLogic, Greg Benson thinks that: “Data scientists often run into the issue of trying to add artificial intelligence or machine learning capabilities without concrete objectives. This is a waste of time. Start by asking how your customer experience will improve at a high level.”

Tal Kedar also gives a good example on the matter: “If you are building a self-driving machine, you need to know what makes a good driver, and be well-versed in the challenges and outcomes that accompany safe or reckless driving, and then have those reflected in the algorithms that drive the car. This is why I encourage data scientists to always make sure they have a coherent, clear narrative linking the business problem at hand to their choice of algorithms.”

Thoughts: Initial workflow should be first well-defined before you should begin to actually analyze the given data. Start with the identifying the problem first, then design a solution, while building a supportive checklist doc, to track your progress every step of the way.

Closing thoughts

Today we have learned that Data professionals experience huge challenges in their data science and machine learning career – for most of them, it is three per year. We have learned that a theoretical aspect of the work is only the tip of the iceberg, and you should approach your work with a serious level of pragmatism if you want to see formidable results. You should start form first mastering the basics and only focus on tools, platforms, and areas you want to dive deep, instead of trying to accomplish everything at once. Be ready to face the real world challenges, because they are the ones, that will help you to become more innovative and proactive at your work.

Everything You Need To know About Lifeworks Recovery

Addiction comes in many forms. When most people think about addiction, they only think of drugs, but there are so many other types of addiction. Not every addict has needle marks or damaged skin. Every addict does not have constant rings around their eyes or the smell of alcohol on their breath. Not all addicts show outward signs of their addiction. Sometimes, the face of addiction is the laughing best friend or the bubbly co-worker. Some addictions are on a different level altogether. However, all addictions are equally difficult and cause personal problems. Addictions put a strain on a person’s relationships and personal lives in general. The key to dealing with any type of addiction is to seek help as soon as possible. Thankfully, there are places like Lifeworks Recovery to help you through and beat the addiction. There are many rehab facilities for the common addictions such as various drugs and alcohol, but in the case of Lifeworks and others like it, they specialize in very specific addictions. Here, we will explore the types of addictions that Lifeworks specializes in, the types of treatments they offer, and much more.

First, consider the type of addictions that is treated at Lifeworks Recovery. This facility specializes in addictions relating to sex and relationships. This includes addiction to sex, porn, love, and cybersex. They also offer treatment for PTSD, codependency, grief, depression, and alcohol addiction. Essentially, they treat things that can affect your romantic relationships and sexual well being. Interpersonal relationships are vital to a healthy mind, if anything is adversely affecting these relationships, it can be damaging in a myriad of ways. They have many different treatments available for each type of addiction and other issues. Remember that you will not be judged here, so do not hesitate to reach out for help due to a fear of ridicule or judgment. The fantastic people at Lifeworks have seen just about everything, whatever you or your loved one is dealing with, it will not be shocking to them.

If you are unsure if your love of porn or sex is verging on addiction, there is a test on the Lifeworks website that only takes a few minutes of your time. This test will help you determine whether or not you are actually addicted. If the test reveals that you most likely have an addiction, there will be information about seeking further assessment in person. The only way deal with an addiction is to confront it headlong. Do not be afraid of the process, a counselor will be able to advise the best course of action for your particular situation. Remember that everyone does not need the exact same type of treatment, everyone is different and everyone’s situation is different. Therefore, everyone needs a specific treatment plan.

Now, consider the different types of treatment Lifeworks offers. The first type of treatment to consider is directed specifically at teenagers. Many addiction and interpersonal problems begin in adolescence, therefore, it is important to begin treatment as soon as any signs of a problem appear. Next, they offer individual counseling sessions. This is ideal for many people. They also offer group therapy sessions for anyone who would benefit from sharing their story amongst their peers. Couples therapy and marriage counseling are also available to help couples deal with addiction, grief, or anything else that may affect the relationship. They also offer coaching and specialized stress reduction techniques. Looking for something else? Lifeworks also has intensives, groups, and workshops regularly. Depending on your exact combination, your therapist may recommend any one of these treatments or any combination thereof.

When it comes to addictions, the hardest step is to acknowledge the problem and make an appointment. Making an appointment with Lifeworks is incredibly easy. There are several ways to do it. You can call the facility and set up an appointment through the receptionist. You can also make an appointment through their website. There is a simple form to fill out that will allow you to set an appointment that conforms to your schedule. If you want an option that is even more discreet, there is a link on the appointments page of the Lifeworks website that will allow you to get directly in touch with the care coordinator. If you are still hesitating about making an appointment, take a smaller step by taking the online test to determine your level of addiction.

If you feel like a loved one is struggling with any type of addiction, be honest with them. It will not be an easy conversion, in fact, it will likely be incredibly difficult. If you care about someone, it will be worth it in the end. Many people are in denial about their addictions, other problems as well. These types of problems will have an adverse effect on relationships and the longer they go unchecked, the worse the problems become.
