7 Affordable Digital Marketing Tools Every Entrepreneur Should Have - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Being an entrepreneur gives you a considerable learning curve. Most of the time, when you have just started a company, you will end up doing everything (or the majority of it) by yourself. With a limited budget and plenty that require an investment, you will do everything you can to keep the spending low. Thankfully, when it comes to marketing, there are many freemium tools for you to execute your strategies. The problem is, you might end up spending hours testing these tools to find the best fit. At Villa Finder, we have been through the same, and we thought it’d be great to share our “winners” with you. These are the tools that we are fond of and still use them up to this day. Rest assured, they all have a free option or only cost a small amount!

Onlypult

We all know that social media has become an important part of the marketing strategy. Although you may not be able to be present on all channels, you will have to commit to the ones where your customers are. If you have to log in to every single channel every day to publish a single post, it’s gonna take away all your time. This is why scheduling tools exist. At Villa Finder, we rely on Onlypult to schedule Instagram posts. This tool allows you to plan as many posts as you want, reply to comments and direct messages. As for Facebook, we find that Facebook’s scheduling function works very well, so there is no real need to get another tool to do that.

Grammarly

It’s common to make mistakes when you are writing. However, it’s not very interesting to let your customers see them. Sometimes, even when you have reviewed the copy a couple of times, a few typos still manage to escape tired eyes. This is where Grammarly comes to the rescue. It is a great application to help you write error-free. With just the free version, the app scans your text and spots spelling and grammatical errors. It also informs you of any accidental plagiarism. You can also install a browser extension, which will examine the text you write online, whether it’s a Facebook post, an email or a google document.

BuzzSumo

BuzzSumo is a great tool to find new ideas. Once you have a list of topics you want to write about, do a quick search on Buzzsumo. You will be able to see the best-performing articles, page views, backlinks, and social shares of the posts. You can also check out what ’s trending. Do note that there is a limit for the unpaid version. You can only conduct up to 5 searches every day.

Google Keyword Planner

With Google Keyword Planner, you can identify keyword trends and make sure that your content and search campaigns remain relevant. The tool gives you information which keywords people are using for the search, the competition, average monthly search and more. Check out a useful guide here to know how to use Google Keyword Planner for your business.

MailChimp

Even if you have just started the business, you should consider collecting customers’ information and keep them up-to-date with what you are doing. MailChimp is a valuable tool for this. Even with the free option, you can already make use of various functions such as A/B Testing, basic segmentation and pop-up. You also have many pre-made templates to create a beautiful newsletter at ease. If you want to create one from scratch, the drag-and-drop model makes the process simple and straightforward.

Canva

Designing is a real challenge for entrepreneurs. Having a visually pleasant presentation is equally important to having meaningful, quality content. However, hiring a designer or outsourcing can be very costly. This is where Canva can help. This tool gives you access to pre-designed templates, colour palettes, icons and stock images, which you can use to create a nice visual. More importantly, it also has templates that cater to various social media channels’ dimensions for you.

Free stock images

While there are free images on Canva, the selection is quite limited. If you are not able to build your own image library, check out Pixabay or Unsplash. There are over a million stock images for you to choose from. These are all in the public domain, meaning you don’t have to worry about copyright. The downside of this is that it may take quite some time to find the right images.

These are the tools that we use every day at Villa Finder. I hope that these will be as helpful for you as they have been for us. All the best for your endeavour!

E-Commerce the Big Game - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Over the past few decades one of the biggest revolution this World has seen in anything is the information technology and the telecommunication. The pace at which the networking systems have grown is outstanding. And now we are living in an age of digital world with so many things and service just a touch away. This revolution in technology has not only served the purpose of networking itself but has also paved the way for so many things associated with it like services. Business, healthcare, aviation and Education etc. And the result as we see around is outstanding and the collective outcome has revolutionized our daily lives.

Business and trading

Let’s take the example of the business and trading here. In the past there used to be big marketplaces in metropolitans where sellers and buyers used to gather and do the business in wholesales and retailing. There were lots of hassles in this process. But now this marketplace virtually exists everywhere and you can do business and trading anywhere at any time with an even bigger pool of customers. The idea of E-commerce is huge and it has totally changed the business and trading. Now you can buy and sell your stuff through your smartphones with just a few clicks and payments are also done online. It has surely uplifted the small sector businesses who now don’t need investments to buy shops etc. and can easily sell their products online.

The E-Commerce has made people rich like millionaires and billionaires  over last decade like Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Jack Ma of Ali Baba both companies are the biggest E-commerce companies in the world at present time and facilitating consumers and traders from around the globe.

Entrepreneurships and Start-Ups:

Where the networking has paved way for blooming of bigger sectors around the world it has also opened paths for the youth to put forward their ideas and execute them at smaller local levels, which may grow into even bigger things sometimes, remember the Facebook which was created in a dorm of Harvard University in US and now stands at one of the biggest companies in the World in mere 12 years.

The idea of Start-ups and entrepreneurships has grown in recent years with advent of smartphones and application systems. The Start-Ups places and incubation centers have opened and idea is that people gather at a common place and share their ideas, collectively work on them and bring out a product i.e. Apps and games etc.

So now if you are a software engineer just finished the college and has some idea to develop an app where people can share their Resume/CVs online with a video and you make a bridge between them and HR departments of Multinational companies. All you need is to develop an online app and a website. When gradually your start-up grows you can bring in people who are from other fields like web designing, Photography and Business and accounting to take up various departments of the Startup so that it turns out to be even bigger. And when you start making money and have to pay the employees, since it’s a digital age we live in, this task will be taken care of by online pay stubs while you keep focusing on the growth of your business. Overall we see the different services of online networking coming together at a place and helping a person to bring forward its ideas and share it with the World. Hence we see today that there are millions of Apps and Websites and Startups around the World making our lives much easier. And as I am writing this last sentence my Pizza arrived which I ordered from the online food app.

What Is Function Point Software? - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0

Project management is vital to any business. The problem is keeping everyone on track and making sure all members of the team have access to all of the same information. This is an issue that has been a source of stress for many years. Thankfully, the internet has provided a myriad of options that make keeping the entire project team up to date and constantly in the loop. There are apps, programs, downloads, and special software designed specifically for this purpose. Unfortunately, there are some issues still with many of these programs. this includes crashing, unreliability, no access on certain platforms, and many other things. There is one software company that stands above all the rest with functionality and reliability, Function Point Software. Of course, when first introduced to a new software or program, there is inevitably skepticism and doubt. The best way to alleviate these things is by educating yourself on the way it works and its history. That is why you will find here a detailed guide to help you understand what this software is, how it works, what to expect, and how to get started.

To understand what this software can do, it is best to begin by considering all of the necessary aspects of project management. For a project management team to build a great workflow, there are several things that are needed. Schedules, task assignments, to-do lists, templates, and the ability to collaboratively edit documents of all type is just one of the many things that a project management team needs. Also, there needs to be team access to various tools for handling customer service, insights and analytics, and bookkeeping. Each of these tools is incredibly necessary. There are many versions of these tools, but the problem is that each one is separate. Which means there will be passwords and access codes for each team member for each tool. As a general rule, none of these tools have the ability to work together and therefore there is no way to cross reference see everything in one place. One of the best assets of Function Point is that it provides all of these things and more in one single place. One place to log in, not many. Access to all tools, calendars, etc. all in one location with the ability to cross-reference information with having to pull from two or three different places. For more information on the necessary tools for project management, head over to the Function Point website.

Now, let’s talk about the different features of this software. You will have access to customer service tools, project accounting information, traffic management, collaboration tools, project management tools, and insight and analytic information. Within each of these categories is a wide array of tools to aid in every aspect of the project. Here is a detailed list of the tools available in each category.

Traffic Management

  • Calendar view
  • Timesheets
  • Resource allocation
  • Workload capacity
  • Gantt charts with dependencies

This software company was founded by a man named Chris Wilson. Mr. Wilson designed this software in 1997 in Vancouver Canada. His creation has quickly risen in the ranks to become one of the leading project management software. Originally, he designed this software to be a platform that produced automated pricing calculations. Very quickly, however, he built on this original platform and created the all-in-one project management necessity that it is today.

There are a few other software companies that have similar features, but the only one will best suit the needs and wants of each project team. Here are a few tips to help you determine if a given project management software is right for you. Some software versions boast having the most features available, but there is one thing that should always be considered in this situation. This consideration is this; are all of these features actually necessary? There are some tools that are not actually necessary to have an excellent functioning project management. Too many features can overcrowd the system and cause problems. On the other hand, too few features and you will not be able to handle everything that needs to be taken care of.  Next, you should look at the vendor’s background. If they have a background in project management and software development, they are likely to have an excellent product, whereas if they have a background in a completely different area, they will not be able to produce a product as strong as others.

Why is it important to have all of the necessary project management tools in one place? Technically speaking, it is not actually necessary; however, it is immensely helpful. This eliminates the need for multiple accounts, downloads, and logins. Also, it makes it possible to quickly go from scheduling to budget management to collaboration, all without having to change sites or applications.

It is incredibly easy to get your project team set up with Function Point Software. All you have to do is head over to their website and click a few buttons. They will help you get your account set up and help you learn how to best utilize it. Regardless of whether you are a seasoned project management pro or are starting your first team project, this software will be incredibly useful. If you are a project management team leader, look into setting up this software for your team. If you are currently a part of a team, ask your team leader about trying out this software as soon as possible. Any information that you may need or want regarding price, how the software works, or how to install it can be found on the Function Point website. Gather as much information as you can before presenting the software to your team.

Maggie Koosa, CEO of The Alchemists, which is a financial advisory firm that specializes in working with business owners and entrepreneurs joins Enterprise Radio.

This episode of Enterprise Radio is working in association with the Financial Channel.

Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Maggie Koosa discuss the following:

  1. Why do you work with business owners and entrepreneurs?
  2. Why would a business owner need a financial advisor? Don’t they just buy you stocks and bonds?
  3. You’ve said that you are a paradigm-shifter in financial advising, what distinguishes you?
  4. We hear the term “cashflow” a lot when it comes to start-up’s and businesses succeeding. Why is this so important?
  5. What is a common misconception business owners have regarding planning for retirement?
  6. Can you explain 1 do and 1 don’t for business owners with a 401k plan?
  7. How can you help business owners pay less taxes?
  8. Why should business owners opt in regarding workers comp?
  9. You’ve said that you take a team approach to working with business owners, what does that mean?

TIP: Have an exit strategy! That may be to sell the business, transfer it to a family member, sell it to key employees using an ESOP, retain ownership as a passive partner, or liquidate it. To maximize the upside, this must be a plan that is developed and not decided upon spontaneously. Remember, if you don’t have an exit strategy, then you don’t have a business, you have a job.

Maggie Koosa, CEO of The Alchemists, has been helping business owners for more than 10 years. Prior to advising families and business owners, she taught high school mathematics for 12 years. She started her own firm in 2017 because she wanted to provide an elevated level of service with a paradigm-shifting approach to financial advising. She is licensed in all 50 states and her #1 focus is that she cares about her people, whom others call “clients” or “customers”. Unlike larger firms, she doesn’t work with everyone. If she did, she wouldn’t be able to give her people the individualized attention they want and need. She works with those who are most committed to securing their financial success. She wants to see her people send their kids to college, build towards a healthy retirement, and plan for quality of life. As such, she does not nickel and dime them with arbitrary fees.

What does all that mean?

  • As a fiduciary, she will work with you to develop an appropriate and comprehensive financial plan for you, your business, and your family.
  • She will help you understand your insurance and investments by providing you as much education as you’d like, including events, webinars, and classes.
  • She will answer her phone and greet you by name when you call, even at night or on the weekend.
  • She will provide you with support and guidance during your times of need and concern.
  • She will call if/when something occurs in the stock market.
  • You will have access to Maggie and her resources (i.e. an extensive network of professionals).
  • You can sleep at night with the certainty that someone who cares about YOU and your loved ones is being mindful and keeping watch over your financial resources and planning for your future.

She is a competitive athlete and a lifelong Girl Scout. She is a foster mom of 3 beautiful boys, whom they hope to adopt. She is a mentor and a philanthropist who helps to support a few non-profit organizations through the donation of her time, expertise, and fundraising efforts.

Trade exhibitions or shows are the medium of marketing to reach a number of potential customers that every business organization is using as a strong tool. New contacts have a great value for the developing companies that can take the small business to the next level. There comes a number of opportunities to exhibit yourself at the expo centres and malls where you have your own trade show booths to meet your potential buyers. Here are the reasons that why you should go for a trade show for your small business.

Support Competition

With the presence of so many companies at the trade show, the event supports competition. The competitive environment makes you do something exceptional and to go a step further to stand out at the crowd. It is a positive competition where you can win with a little creativity and hard work. There might be many companies from the same industry so you have to do something that the audience choose you over the others. Hence you can build your identity among the others with your creative hook.

A face to face meeting with the customers

As many research studies have proved that interpersonal marketing is the best way to make loyal customers. Talking to your clients is the most effective way to persuade them as you answer them individually and satisfy their needs. Trade shows are a way to meet the consumers personally and elaborate them what you are doing. You can convince them that you are better among the others and more consumer oriented. When the consumers feel that it is in their benefit they definitely will go for your services. It is great for the small business so they can meet a big amount of visitors for negotiations.

Building new relationships

New and small companies need more and more relationships to grow. Trade shows are a way to build contacts with the customers and other companies also so you may get a contract from them. This is the way you can expand your brand by getting information about your customers and their demands. They can ask your contacts to suggest you what you can do to make it better. This is the time for networking with the others in your industry.

Research and understand the market

When you come in contact with the others from the same industry you can do a better research what they are doing and what more you need to do. You can understand the latest trend of the market and already available services so you can make your small company develop into a big one with the big hook you can find at the tradeshows.

Lead Generation

Sales are the ultimate goal for any company. Your basic and the most important achievement is to enhance the sales and generate the lead. Trade shows are like direct marketing where you can sell the products or services directly to the consumers you meet. If the consumers enjoy the experience of buying from you and admire what you are offering it will expand the lead making more and more sales as they will also be your advertiser soon. It is important to provide them with a good experience and also try to stay in touch with them through message branding and social media.

Establishing the reputation

As you give time to your audience, it will be paid back in the form of a good rapport. It is like you have it back what you invested in the exhibition. You can justify this budget of the company with the advertising and making connections for the longer term. When there are so much competition and so many options in the market you can have a strong connection with hundreds of buyers as your guaranteed buyers.

Before Selling Your House: Make Sure You Don’t Need Garage Door Repair - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

There are a great many steps to preparing a house to be sold. All holes made by hanging artwork must be filled. Carpets need a good deep cleaning. Gutters need to be cleaned out and any necessary repairs made. Paint should be updated and refreshed. Lawns need to be trimmed and maintained. Any broken windows, path stones, steps, porch railings, need to be repaired. The whole house will need a thorough deep cleaning. There is one thing though, that is often overlooked. This, of course, is the garage door. Over time, the tracks, gears, pulleys, and springs of a garage door wear down and fail to work correctly. Sometimes the problems are obvious, perhaps the door becomes stuck in a single position. Other times, it is not so obvious such as squeaking and rattling when the door is in use. These problems are easy to overlook or ignore and therefore only stand to get worse and worse until they become one of the glaringly obvious problems. The garage door may not seem like a big deal, but if anything in or on the house is compromised in any way, it can affect the sale. The problem is, not many people know where to begin with repairing a garage door or finding a professional that can make the repairs. This is exactly the type of information that you will find here. How to determine what type of problem is affecting the door, how to make small repairs, and when you need to hire a professional.

The first thing that needs to be done is to examine the entire door, its track, and all moving parts. To successfully do this, you will need a flashlight, rag, ladder, black washable marker, and a helping hand from a friend or family member. Begin and the bottom of the track near the floor. Shine the flashlight on the track from every available angle looking for dents, crinkles, indents, or bends in any part of the metal. Make a note of any dents that you find so that you know exactly where to find them all after you finish the inspection. This can be done in two ways, you can draw a diagram in a notebook and mark off areas or you can use the washable marker to mark the areas directly on the track. Make sure it is washable as you will need to clean it off after you make the repairs. Move systematically up the entire length of the tracks. Once you reach a certain height, you will need to use the ladder. This is the point where you will need the assistance of your friend or family member. They will need to steady the ladder to make the experience much safer. It also gives you more freedom to concentrate on examining the track. As you are looking at the track, there may be some areas that are clogged with grease, this is where the rag comes in handy. You can use the rag to wipe away enough grease to determine if that area has any imperfections. After examining the track, move on to the gears, pulleys, and springs. Look for pulleys that have slipped out of the track and springs that may be loose. As you are checking the length of the track, check to see if any debris has lodged in the track or gears. This is the second most common problem.

After the inspection is finished, it is time to determine whether you can handle the repairs on your own or need the aid of a professional. If there are any dents or any abnormalities in the metal of the tracks, you can easily handle the project without assistance. If there is any debris, this is very easy to handle alone. All it takes is a good cleaning. The pulleys and gears are a bit more difficult, if you have experience with this type of project, it should be no problem. On the other hand, if you do not have any experience, it is most likely best to call a professional. For springs, it is always best to call a professional. The only exception would be an engineer or professional repairman. If, after reading this in its entirety, you need additional information about hiring a professional, be sure to lookup Garage Doors Repair Wizard Company.

If you need to smooth out dents in the metal, you will need a rubber mallet or hammer and a block of wood. Never strike the metal with a regular hammer without using a block of wood. The reason for this is that a regular hammer will cause additional dents due to the rounded shape of the head. The rubber mallet will not have this problem and as such can be used alone if necessary. Before working on the actual dents, you should first wipe off any excess grease or build-up. Also, remove any and all debris. This can include leaves, dust and grime, twigs, and clumped grease balls. All of this should be removed before beginning the process of straightening out any dents. Then lay the block of wood along the damaged area and hammer evenly along the block until the area is smooth. Work systematically until all damaged areas of the track have been fixed. After this part of the process is complete, you will need to give the entire track a good cleaning. Once everything is dry, use WD40 or a similar product on all of the gears and pulleys.

At this point, you will definitely know whether or not you will need the assistance of a professional. If you decide that you do, the process of finding one is fairly simple. The internet holds a wealth of information just waiting to be uncovered and this includes listings of various types of professionals. Simple pull up any available search engine and use the words “garage door repair” along with the name of your city or something along the lines of “near me”. This will give you a comprehensive list of what is available in or near your area.

By now, basically, everyone knows the GoPro brand. They make fantastic cameras that are designed to handle your busy life on the go. Most models have shockproof features which means that can be dropped without much repercussion. They also have special cases that are waterproof, these are very popular among divers and snorkelers. These cameras are quite small which makes them incredibly easy to carry almost anywhere with you because they can fit almost anywhere. You can take digital photos or digital videos using a GoPro with several adjustment features. There are quite a few different models, each designed to suit the needs of different people. Using GoPro Color to shoot photos, you will get post-ready photographs that look amazing and do not require a ton of editing. This is excellent for anyone that does not have the time or the ability to edit photos before posting them. The main problem with this is for professional or budding photographers that prefer to edit and draw out the colors and shadows for a crisper, more professional look. Thankfully, there is a feature on certain GoPro models called Protune which gives this control. It captures more data than any other digital camera which means that the files will inevitably be bigger. This feature does not use jpeg files, instead, it focuses on RAW files which contain far more details and look much more natural. This software is not yet particularly well know, when it is brought up, people are often scrambling for information. Here, you will find answers to that burning question, what is Protune? You will also find information about what to expect from photos taken with this software and the differences between this and other camera settings.

First, what is this elusive software and how does it work? Essentially, this software is a feature on several GoPro models that allow for more natural photos. This feature can be turned on or off at any time while using the camera. Consider it like this, other features strive to eliminate the need for editing. In fact, the photos are automatically filtered and edited when you take it. With this software enabled, it eliminates these automatic filters and allows for a natural look. It allows more color to be captured. Also, it keeps shadows from being as harsh and makes everything more muted. Keep in mind that the goal is to allow untainted editing which means you are getting a very raw photo. At first, it will seem muted, perhaps even dull. However, it will get rid of harsh shadows and make colors appear truer. Keep in mind that it cannot actually get rid of shadows altogether, all it does is tone them down and make them appear soft rather than harsh and overstated. In short, this software gives the user more control over how the final product looks. It is often difficult to edit photos taken without the Protune feature enabled. Of course, this can be said of any digital camera. This is because the images undergo some editing within the camera when it is taken. The process is automatic, the only way to change this is by enabling this software.

What type of features are included in this software? Not only will this software give you more freedom with editing, but it also gives you more options when taking the picture in the first place. You will be able to adjust professional settings to allow for a more controlled experience. As with most digital cameras, there will be an auto feature that adjusts the settings for you with each picture, but most photographers prefer to make adjustments themselves. Within this software, you will be able to adjust the white balance, color, ISO, sharpness, and exposure. Within the white balance settings, you can choose from 3000K, 5500K, 6500K, CAM RAW, and negative. For sharpness, there is a high, medium, and low setting. The high setting will provide the same amount of sharpness that is applied to photos taken without this software enabled. Low sharpness gives the most flexibility after the photo is taken. For ISO in video mode, you can choose from 6400, 1600, and 400. In only one model (HERO4), there is a variety of ISO options for photos. This includes 800, 400, 200, and 100. For color, there are two options. You can use GoPro Color or Protune Flat. This first option only works when this software is turned off and provides automatic adjustments. The latter option gives more neutral colors which allow for more editing control later. For exposure, you can choose from +2.0, +1.5, +1.0, +0.5, +0.0, -0.5, -1.0, -1.5, -2.0. There is also a reset option if you feel you need to start from scratch with the setting.

This GoPro feature works well in conjunction with professional editing software. Do not be concerned, it works with almost any editing software, amateur and professional. Keep in mind that these features are designed for the advanced GoPro user. This does not mean that you should avoid it if you are new to GoPro, only that it was designed with advanced users in mind. If you are interested in using this software, the best thing to do it give it a try. Even if you are a professional photographer, there will be a learning curve to discover the best ways to utilize these features. The best thing about using a digital camera is that you can take a bunch of practice shots and then just delete them. That way they are not taking up needed space, but you will have the opportunity to practice as much as you need. Keep in mind, that you will want to use a high capacity SD card because photos and videos taken with this software engaged will be bigger files than any taken without it. You will also want to have a few backup SD cards when you are not just practicing. That way you can ensure having enough space to handle whatever you need it to.

Top 5 Email Marketing Tips Entrepreneurs Need to Use - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Are you looking to get more customers through email marketing? If so, read on to learn the top email marketing tips entrepreneurs need to use.

Netflix has over 125 million subscribers worldwide.

Netflix didn’t rise to the top just because they produce quality material and provide the ability to customize content. Their tremendous success can be directly linked to one thing, email.

Netflix realized the power of email early on and began using it for marketing campaigns. Consumers are constantly checking their inboxes almost every hour of the day. By 2022 the number of emails sent every day will reach 330 billion.

People are very receptive to permission-based marketing through email. We’ve created this article to provide you with the best of the best in email marketing tips. These 5 tips can help you start reaching out to your target audience today!

1. Email Marketing Tips on Format

44% of emails are being read on mobile phones. Keep this in mind when designing the format of your advertisement. You’ll want to make sure the messages you send are compatible with different smartphones.

2. Make It Personal

Connecting with your consumers will help you craft really good emails. To do this always address your customers as “You” or by their name. Have you ever heard a radio announcer say “How’s everybody doing out there?”.

You probably weren’t intrigued or captivated to continue listening. The radio announcer failed to make a connection with you. In all forms of advertising, it’s important to speak one on one with consumers.

3. Avoid Being Weird

While you should use their name it’s important not to overdo it. Think of your email as a conversation. How would you feel if someone talking to you kept saying your name?

If your email states the customer’s name too many times it might come off as inorganic, weird or even worse creepy.

4. Grab Their Attention

Creating an interesting subject line will prompt readers to open your emails.

There’s no point in having the perfect message if nobody is going to read it. The best subject lines are 45 characters or less. They are clever and get straight to the point.

Make sure you avoid creating misleading subject lines. Misleading subject lines usually don’t relate to the content of the email. Readers are likely to mark your mail as spam when you try to trick them.

5. See How You Compare

Email marketing companies can help you track the success of your campaign. This will give you the opportunity to compare your numbers to your competition. Their data can help give you insight into what customers are responding to.

Create a Call to Action

Your email is perfect, the consumer is intrigued, now what?

You have to create a clear call to action (CTA) for your readers. This will tell them the next step they need to take to get your products or service.

Every email should only have one call to action. Having more than one CTA might end up creating confusion for your readers. Instead, keep it simple and only include one CTA at the very end of the email.

Have the Right Information

Now you can start writing quality content using our email marketing tips!

Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Morry Wroby discuss the following:

  1. Happy Chicken Eggs have really taken “Free Range” to another level, can you explain how you have done this?
  2. How important is the wellbeing of a chicken on the quality of an egg (health benefits and taste)?
  3. Why do you think Happy Chicken Eggs has become known more as a family, rather than just a farm
  4. There was recently a big movement in Australia, where Mums and influencers across the country took a stand for free range and Happy Chicken Eggs – why do you think that is?
  5. In order to have your product hormone free, and have so much space for the chickens, there is obviously increased costs for production. For other businesses out there considering the importance of their products health benefits and animal welfare – verses increased cost, what would be your advice?

Happy Chicken Eggs is an Australian family-owned farming company based in Victoria. Our first farms opened in the Goulburn Valley in 2008. We truly care for all our hens, our eggs are hormone free and we are approved by the RSPCA.

Why Security Beats Complacency for Your Business - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

While managing and maintaining the business can take up a lot of your time, energy, and effort, there are other aspects in the business that you may neglect or overlook. One of these is the security. No business, after all, is immune to intruders, theft, or data breach.

Most would have put security measures in place, but how often do you update your security system? Complacency, as they say, has no room in business.

Once you and your workforce become complacent to threats, it is easy for unscrupulous individuals to break in or breach your system. You should be vigilant when it comes to safeguarding your business by putting security in the priority list and updating and strengthening it annually. Here are some reasons security beats complacency.

Safe Business Premises

When you stop being complacent and start taking security seriously, you will be able to think of ways in making the place where you do business as safe and as secure as possible. There will be security guards who will look out for suspicious individuals.

Entrances are sealed from those who are not part of the company. Security cameras are also installed for support and constantly monitored by the right personnel.

You Set a Proper Standard

Prioritizing security means you have standards for your company and your employees. Company culture is important, so if you have set proper expectations and drilled your mission and vision into your employees, they will know they are part of what keeps the company going and will proactively help in maintaining that high standard. All of you need to uphold it, and when you do, there’s no time to hold your guard down.

You Adopt the First Line of Defense

The threats on your business are not confined to the physical. It is also important to consider your online data, especially now that the world is governed by technology.

There are many cases when networks are breached and assets are compromised. Don’t let it happen to you by thinking ahead and putting firewalls, which are responsible for determining what data flows through and where they should go. You should consider installing firewalls both in the external and internal perimeters.

You Constantly Update Your Security Measures

It’s not enough to put those measures in place. Having an impressive security system is only the first step. It needs to be constantly updated to adopt with the changing times.

Intruders and thefts are also getting more sophisticated as security systems get harder to breach. Check if your system still works. For example, when it comes to doors, you must check the strengths of your locks by trying them using a set of lockpicking tools. That way, you’re the first one to know just how strong your defenses are.

The same should be done with your software and other data storage systems. Keep informed, and bring your security system up-to-date. Never stop trying.

You Don’t Take Web Security for Granted

Web applications are mostly vulnerable to attacks. As they become more complex and frequent, your company needs to be protected from them at all cost. Put up robust web security systems that can accurately scan web traffic.

Don’t think about the cost. If you want to have a comprehensive web security system to protect your important and sensitive data, you need to invest in it.

Security, both in the business premises and the cyberworld, is extremely important. However, sometimes the struggle is not only against the criminals but also with the company and workforce. Often times they become too reliant on technology that they themselves forget they are responsible for looking out any unusual things in their surroundings.

Everybody who is part of the company should realize their role in the complex aspects of security system. Constant vigilance is imperative if you want to succeed in keeping your business safe and secure.

Caring For The Living Walls: How Much Maintenance Is Really Needed? - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

Imagine walking toward your home or office and coming face to face, not with the usual grayish brick or concrete wall, but with a lush and green tapestry.  Then see yourself entering the building and again encountering the same beautiful façade covering your interior walls. This is the joy of having a living wall.

A living wall is a wall whose surface is covered with growing plant material. They are also referred to as green walls, vertical gardens, or eco walls. Living walls have numerous benefits and they are gradually beginning to dominate the landscape in shopping malls and airports. Think of it as a way of bringing the beauty of nature to you.

However, once your living wall has been installed, you have to make sure that the system works well. The maintenance requirements will depend on the type of living wall you have, but there are some fundamental considerations you have to keep in mind.

Irrigation

Living walls rarely contain any soil, so you have to know how to irrigate the plants. If there is some soil, then make sure to water the plants several times a day. You may have to do this using a watering can or a hose. The amount of water used will depend on the specific needs of the plants. If the living wall uses a hydroponics system, ensure that there is a constant supply of water in the pipes.

Fertilizer

Plants need to eat, and in a natural setting, this food comes from the soil. But when it comes to a living wall, this isn’t possible. This means you have to add fertilizer to the water to ensure the plants get the right nutrients. The exact amount and the type of fertilizer used are determined by the type of plants on the wall.

Pruning

Plants that grow in the ground need regular pruning to stay healthy. The same applies to those growing on a wall. You have to remove any drying or infected leaves and stems that may spread diseases to the rest of the plant. In case your living wall has herbs and vegetables, you have to harvest them to avoid dealing with rotting crops. Though weeds aren’t much of a problem in a living wall, you still have to check and remove any strange plants that find their way into your wall.

System Maintenance

Apart from irrigating, fertilizing, pruning, and harvesting, there is still a lot of work to do in maintaining the system. You have to check the water pump periodically to ensure it is functioning properly. The pipes and sprinklers have to be inspected to make sure they work correctly. If you fail to do this, you may have to deal with flooding or dried up plants.

As you can see, there is a lot that goes into maintaining a living wall system. The good news is that you don’t have to do all these tasks on your own. There are some companies that install and maintain the whole system for you. With such a plant care program in place, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your living wall.

The Effects Of Tariffs On US Pork Producers - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

Another batch of tariffs from Mexico and China is about to hit the United States pork producers, and the predictions are not looking great for US producers. On Friday, China will begin collecting another 25 percent for pork imported from the U.S. When combined with the previous import taxes, the new tax will surpass seventy percent. There will also be a 25 percent tariff on U.S. soybeans.

Fear is rising due to the threat of a trade war. The Chinese are the top pork consumer and 25 percent of all U.S. hogs are sold overseas. One of the companies that may be impacted by the tariffs is Smithfield Foods, Inc. A company that had, until recently, been making a healthy margin off pork bread in the US and sent to China. A ten percent tariff beginning June 5th has been imposed by Mexico on frozen and chilled pork muscle. This doubles the import tax to twenty percent. This action occurred after the duties the Trump administration placed on imported steel and aluminum.

The additional import duty of 25 percent from China will impact $34 billion on U.S. goods. This response is to the actions against Beijing from President Trump for the alleged theft of intellectual property. Additional taxes are being added by China for U.S. autos. dairy, cotton, soybeans, wheat, and whiskey.

The U.S. exported $20 billion to China last year. Soybeans were more than fifty percent. The 25 percent duty in April was retaliation for the steel tariffs from the Trump administration. The high import taxes close the door on the United States importing pork into China. The industry experts have calculated the tariffs from China amount to roughly $18 for ever animal annually. This is over $2 billion.

These new tariffs will amplify and impact the expansion of the pork industry during the last several years. Last week, the hog herds were disclosed as being at a record high by the United States Department of Agriculture. The trade issues with China are affecting the export volumes from the U.S. These have been decreasing since 2016. The need to import additional pork is currently high. Last year, China presented the second largest volume market for hog producers in the U.S. According to the federation, the export value was approximately $1.1 billion.

The biggest volume market for the previous year came from Mexico. The export value was just behind Japan at $1.5 billion. The Chinese and Mexican markets are considered extremely important for the U.S. This is because they are buying the products usually not purchased by Americans such as raw hams and variety meats including heart, snout, ears, and tongue. The typical value of a hog in 2017 was $147. Of this value, $54 came from exports. There are approximately 550,000 jobs connected to the pork sector. Unfortunately, 110,000 are directly connected to exports.

In the past, President Trump has made offers to compensate the farmers. Sonny Perdue is the USDA Secretary. He has stated numerous times he was instructed by President Trump to formulate a plan to protect the agricultural businesses and the farmers.

Software Testing - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

Over years, software testing has become a requirement in projects that involve software development. This has, therefore, become of great importance because a project cannot be launched before it is put into test. A test is always the best measure of everything.

Definition of Software Testing

Well, it can be defined as the process by which a program is executed with an aim of keeping records of errors and getting every detail of important information following the quality of products or services. In general, software testing enhances software program verification which is then used in identifying missing requirements, gaps, inconsistencies, and the associated implementation risks.

Areas Covered in Software Testing include:

  • Usability
  • An accurate response to different types of inputs
  • Ability to operate as required
  • Acceptance functions performance in the most appropriate time-frame
  • Compliance requirement starting at the development and design phases

When we talk about software testing, it can be regarded as finding information concerning errors, bugs, or defects on software in efforts to offer solutions to coding errors, omissions, requirements gaps and so forth. It is highly crucial because software errors, bugs or defects are likely to cause dangers in the software program.

Methodologies

There are a good number of methods used to carry out software testing. These are strategies employed in testing products or services to make sure it behaves and performs in the best way possible. These software methods are mostly applied by the quality assurance experts to ensure development process leads to a successful release of the software.

Black-box

This testing method is also known as the functional testing and it involves both the outputs and the inputs. It does not concentrate a lot on the type of code or the method of operation. Instead, it looks at the specific outcome set.

White-Box

This method is also known as structural testing. It focuses on details of internal structures associated with software program or application.

Agile

This method mostly follows the agile principles.

Grey-box

This is a pivotal point that involves the structures of internal data and the design algorithms in designing and executing tests at the level of the black-box

Ad-hoc

This is a process of casual methodology conducted without following any specific plan or documentation. In this strategy, the tester operates by breaking the functionality of the software through random operation testing.

Dynamic

This method ensures application software perfectly matches the requirements of the business. These various methodologies include integration testing, system testing, smoke testing, acceptance testing, user acceptance testing etc.

Non-Functional

This focuses on the operational aspects of the software application. They include usability testing, compatibility testing, load testing, security testing, endurance testing, performance testing and so forth.

Types of Testing

As quality assurance continues to increase, more options are provided on different types of software testing. These can be performed to enhance a fully functioning application of software. Here are the common types of software testing:

Unit

The first level of testing makes sure various software elements at the code of software level are operational and operate as designed.

Integration

This type of testing determines whether independently developed software units operate efficiently as connected to one another.

System

This mostly looks at the integrated system of software and hardware components in order to meet the requirements of the business.

Load

This focuses on the application software to ensure it efficiently performs under heavy load.

Smoke

This is mostly used in building verification test which performs reduced attempts in software operation.

Acceptance

This is a formal testing used to determine whether software application qualifies for the acceptance criteria defined by a client.

Security

This type of software focuses on software application security. The tests are built to identify the vulnerabilities likely to pose a risk in the software functionality.

Conclusion

Did you realize how competitive the environment could be? And this has made testing to be a key to success in the industry that involves functionality and experience. Therefore, careful testing should be embraced, because it is the only way to ensure high quality products are delivered to the consumers.
