What Are The Six Types Of Protections You Can Seek In Seattle? - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

$

0

In the state of Washington, a person can file for an order of protection against someone who is threatening them or behaving in an abusive manner. The main objective of the order of protection is to stop one party (the “respondent”) from contacting the other (the “petitioner”). There are varying degrees of the types of orders of protection that a person can seek according to how dangerous their situation is. An “extreme risk” protection order is intended not to cut off communication, but rather to force a “respondent” to surrender any weapons that they might be in possession of.

The type of order that someone seeks depends on the situation they are facing. There are six different protection orders that a petitioner can request from the court. There are specifics related to who can seek a protection order, what they can try to protect themselves from, and the protection that will be offered to the petitioner.

Anti-harassment Protection Order

An anti-harassment protection order is used when the petitioner is the victim of harassment by another person. An anti-harassment order might be filed by either an adult who is being victimized by harassment, or the parents of a child under the age of 18 who they believe is being harassed. A parent has the right to file a petition against any adult whose behavior has a negative effect on their child, any minor child who has a history of harassing their child, or anyone who is being investigated for doing so.

Domestic Violence Protection Order

If you are the victim of domestic violence, then you can request a domestic violence protection order, which is initiated to protect you from violence. Those who can petition for a domestic violence protection order include anyone who is married, has a domestic partner, a person who has a child with someone else, people who live together, anyone who is 16 or older and in a dating relationship, anyone who is related through marriage or blood, and anyone who is in a parent-child relationship, which includes step-parents and grandparents.

Domestic violence is defined as sexual assault, stalking, fear or intimidation, bodily harm, or assault.

An Extreme Risk Protection Order

Someone would request an extreme risk protection order so that law enforcement has the right to stop the respondent from either having control or custody of a firearm, or purchasing or possessing one. To have an extreme risk protection order approved, you must prove that the respondent poses a danger of injury, either to themselves or to someone else.

Sexual Assault Protection Order

Anyone over the age of 16 can file a sexual assault protection order if they have been a victim of sexual assault, unless they qualify instead for a domestic violence protection order. Someone other than the victim can file on the victim’s behalf if the victim is not of age, is vulnerable or impaired, they have a disability, or they have no access to healthcare.

Stalking Protection Order

A stalking protection order is a petition that someone can file if they don’t qualify for a domestic violence protection order. A stalking protection order can be filed by the victim of a stalker, or by someone other than that person (in the case of minor children), someone who is vulnerable or impaired, or someone who is concerned for the victim.

Stalking is defined as being harassed repeatedly. It also includes any behavior that intimidates, frightens, or harasses someone that the respondent either knows or even doesn’t know. It can also include electronic communication.

Vulnerable Adult Protection Order

To file a petition for a vulnerable adult production order, the victim must be abandoned, abused, financially exploited, neglected or had the threat of any of those circumstances. The order is filed on behalf of the vulnerable adult. Someone who is considered vulnerable is anyone over the age of 60, someone who is over 18 but is incapacitated, is developmentally disabled, has been admitted to a care facility, or receives in-home care or has a personal aide.

If you are fearful of someone in your life, there are ways to prevent them from having access to you. There are six different types of protection orders in Seattle to help keep yourself or someone you love safe.

Ladder to Leach Pad: 5 Important Facts About On-the-Job Injuries - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Every job has its risks. A fall from a short or tall ladder can leave you disabled. A fault in a leach pad can leave you dead. Every worker has rights when injured on the job, and every employer owes some accountability. But, frequently, it takes a construction injury lawyer to stand with you.

Here are 5 important facts about on-the-jobs injuries:

  1. Report injury ASAP: Workplace injuries are not limited to crushing traumatic injuries. Business Insider summarized The Bureau of Labor Statistics report, “the most common injuries requiring days off were sprains, strains, and tears (accounting for 38 percent), the most common source of those was ‘overexertion in lifting or lowering’ and by far the most common thing injured was the back.”

There are slip and falls, cumulative stress injuries, and short- and long-term diseases. There are irritations of the eyes, ears, and skin, and there are many more work-related conditions. But, you have an obligation to yourself and the employer to report the injury as soon as possible.

  1. Get a report: The Supervisor must prepare an accident report. Complying quickly is important to the employer, required by OSHA, and valuable to you. Accident reports are standard, usually provided by the Workers’ Compensation insurance company, and readily available to the Supervisor, in the Human Resources office, or online at some businesses.

Your report doesn’t have to be on the company form. You can write a letter reporting details of the accident and injury. Sign and date the letter, and keep a copy for your records. It holds up better if you can get the Supervisor to sign that it has been received.

  1. See the doctor: It’s your decision to seek treatment. Employees pay nothing for Workers’ Compensation insurance, so the company may try to resist frivolous claims. But, the doctor is obliged to treat you in the context of the existing insurance program.

In most cases, employees benefit from the doctor’s diagnosis and prognosis. You should comply with the doctor’s directions. If you do not, the employer may claim that you have not cooperated in your own care. If you do and the doctor restricts your work, you and the company must comply with those restrictions. You have the right to return to your work, and the employer is obliged to accommodate your needs where possible and reasonable.

  1. Alternative care: If the doctor’s treatment isn’t working for you, you have the right to petition for care by another practitioner. (Some jurisdictions permit this option from the start.)

That means you can also seek effective treatment from physical therapists, psychological counseling, or massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic practitioners.

  1. Right to Compensation: After a defined waiting period (e.g., 3-days), your pay must resume despite lost time. If the company fails to comply or fails to honor your claim, you have the right to pursue your own interest in state industrial court. And, you may appeal that court’s decision if not satisfied.

And, you are assured the right to representation by a qualified lawyer at all steps in the process to make your loss whole.

Ladder to Leach Pad

The Industrial Safety & Hygiene News gathered some statistics on construction industry injuries.

  • One in ten construction workers are injured every year.
  • Falls are the greatest cause of fatal construction injuries.
  • The job with the highest injury rates in the construction industry is ironwork.
  • Construction workers account for y% of reported lead poisoning in the United States.

In doing so, they clarify why it is your employee right and necessity to seek representation by a qualified construction injury lawyer.

All You Need To Know About Medical Malpractice In Santa Ana - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

$
0
0

Medical malpractice is a type of personal injury suit that involves a doctor or medical professional who negligently does something to cause an injury to their patient. It can happen frequently, and is a result of someone deviating from the standard care of treatment is; that deviation ends in the patient either being hurt – or in some instances, killed. A physician can be negligent by either doing something that causes harm to someone, or failing to do something that directly ends with someone being harmed.

When you are the victim of medical malpractice in Santa Ana, it is imperative that you hire an attorney who specializes in the complexity of proving your medical malpractice claim. There are things that will help to win or to lose your case, and only an experienced professional will know the difference and how to guide you to get the compensation you deserve.

Statute of limitations

In the state of California, there are time limits that you have to file for medical malpractice. If you don’t file within that timeframe, you might not have a case at all. The law stipulates that you have up to one year to file a malpractice suit. If there is a reason why you could not have known about your injuries – in other words, if there was a delayed discovery – then you might have up to three years from the date of the injury. But if you are a victim, it is important to file suit as soon as possible to ensure that you don’t miss the time limit you have.

Are there medical malpractice caps in California?

California does have a cap on how much someone is entitled to collect in a medical malpractice suit. The patient is allowed to sue for both economic and noneconomic damages related to the claim, but the total amount they can recover for noneconomic damages is capped at $250,000. Economic damages for malpractice are things like medical bills and lost wages, while noneconomic damages include factors like loss of consortium, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.

For some, the hardships and harm of medical malpractice can far exceed the medical malpractice cap, which for some plaintiffs feels completely unfair. The cap was put into action due to the high jury amounts awarded in malpractice cases and how they were affecting the healthcare system and economy as a whole.

As the figures of awards continued to climb, so did the rates of malpractice insurance – and the amount that patients were paying for their medical insurance premiums. Although it seems unfair, the cap was put into place so that there wasn’t a crash of the medical system, where no one could afford to gain access or to administer healthcare.

What do you need to prove a medical malpractice suit?

If you want to prove your medical malpractice case in Santa Ana, you have to prove four components:

  1. Duty of care
  2. Breach of duty
  3. Proximate cause
  4. Damages

First, you must prove that the physician had a relationship with you where they had an obligation of duty. If a relationship can be established, then you have to prove that the duty of care was breached. Breaching the standard of care can mean that the doctor either did something to cause your injury, or that their failure to administer care caused you to be injured.

If you can prove that the doctor did something wrong or didn’t take action when they should have, then you can prove breach of duty.

The third thing you must prove is that the breach of duty is directly related to you being injured. And finally, you must prove that the damages were realized and real.

If you are injured by a physician in the Santa Ana area, it is important that you file a claim immediately. The first step you should take is to hire a Santa Ana medical malpractice specialist who understands the specifics of a malpractice lawsuit. Since you have to know about issues like the four necessary elements of proof and the statutes of limitation, hiring a good medical malpractice lawyer might make the difference between getting compensated for your injuries or being out of luck.

What Are The Consequences For Possession Of Controlled Substance Drug Charges? - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

$

Due to the epidemic of opioid use in the United States, there are very strict rules and laws related to controlled substances. “Controlled substances” are materials or drugs that are classified and regulated by the government. Unless you are in possession under certain circumstances, like you have a prescription or you are engaging in research, then you are not allowed to be in possession of those substances; if you are, there are stiff fines and penalties involved. There are some controlled substances, like heroin or cocaine, that have no medical use. If you are found with those, then there is no justification for possession at all.

What are controlled substances?

According to the federal government, various drugs are considered to be “controlled,” which means that the only way to acquire them is through a prescription from a physician. There are five “schedules” of categorized drugs, according to the Controlled Substances Act. The most dangerous classification is Category One. Although being charged with possession is typically determined at the state level, many states defer to the federal schedule and charge accordingly.

What is considered being in possession of an illegal controlled substance?

Being “in possession” of a controlled substance means that you have it without having the permission to do so. If you don’t have justification – like you have cocaine or heroin or another drug which has no medical use – or you don’t have a prescription that authorizes you to have the medication, then you can be charged with possession.

“Without justification” typically applies to a person who is found with cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana or any other type of narcotic. There are times when you can have a legal drug that requires a prescription; if you don’t have a prescription, that can be classified as not having justification. To be convicted of possession of a controlled substance, there need to be specific elements involved:

The person must know: To be charged with illegal possession, you must have the knowledge that you have a controlled substance on you and that you intentionally acquired it. The stipulation is that a person who is charged with possession does not need to know that the controlled substance is illegal; the prosecution only needs to show that they had the drugs in their possession to prove their case.

They have to have possession of the controlled substance: To be accused of possession of a controlled substance, you have to be either in physical or personal control of the drugs. That means that you must actually have to have the drugs on you, or you have access to them, like having them in the glove compartment or bag.

They can have shared possession: A person can be charged with possession if the prosecution can prove that they had partial control over the drugs. For instance, if you and your spouse had drugs in your home, the prosecution must show that you both had control over the substance – not just one of you – for you both to be convicted.

What is the difference between distribution or sale and possession?

If you are found with drugs, then you can be charged with both possession and distribution, depending on what you were doing when you were caught. If you were found “dealing drugs” to someone else, then you would be both in possession and have the intent to distribute, which carries a much stiffer penalty. If you were just found with the drugs and no intention of selling them, then you would only be charged with possession.

The consequences of being found in possession vary according to the type of drugs you are carrying, the quantity you are in possession of, whether or not it is your first offense, or if you had the intent to sell or distribute them. To lessen criminal punishment, it is always good to hire Queens drug defense attorney to defend you against possession charges. Law Offices of Michael Dreishpoon might be able to either reach a plea agreement or lessen the charges against you. Since you can be facing prison, rehabilitation, diversion or probation, having the right person in your corner to build a healthy defense is imperative.

Why Are Spinal Injuries So Common In Trucking Accidents, And What Are Those Who Are Injured Entitled To? - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

$

Trucking accidents tend to differ from automobile accidents in severity. This is mostly because of the weight that trucks carry and the hazards that they can transport. When it comes to a trucking accident, the injuries and damages are typically more critical and life-altering. The most common types of spinal injuries that people suffer when they are in a trucking accident can affect their functionality for a lifetime, which is why it is important to seek medical attention immediately and to understand what you are entitled to when you are in an accident with a truck.

The average truck can weigh anywhere from 60-70,000 pounds or more than the average car on the road. So when a truck is in an accident, it is easy to see why the automobile driver is at a severe disadvantage. Those in cars usually sustain most of the injuries in a trucking accident, and those injuries are usually pretty serious. The most common injuries sustained involve the back and the neck. Ranging from whiplash to complete paralysis, most trucking accident victims require medical assistance for issues that can be lifelong and disabling.

Spinal injuries

There are many ways that the spine and neck can be affected in an accident. The most common injuries are:

Herniated disc: A herniated disc causes a tear to the disc between the vertebrae that can lead to spinal fluid leaking into the spinal canal. If you have a herniated disc, it can lead to disability and chronic pain that may be hard to treat. The symptoms of a herniated disc are intense and sharp pain radiating from your shoulder, down your arm, tingling in the arms and fingers, muscle cramps, or tightening of the muscles around your spine. The treatment for a herniated disc is long and involved and sometimes unsuccessful.

Fractured vertebrae: When it comes to spinal fractures, automobile accidents are the most common source. As they typically only need a brace, the fracture should heal – but it can have lasting effects on your future.

Pinched nerve: When you have a pinched nerve in your back or neck, it is when there is a nerve that is pinched in the spinal column that can lead to weakness, numbness, tingling or a combination of all three. At times extremely painful, a pinched nerve is difficult to treat.

Bulging disc: Sometimes called a protruding or a bulging disc, this happens when the disc between the vertebrae protrudes outward through the spine. Although a disc can slip out of place for many reasons, when you are in an accident, the force that your body is subjected to usually ends in discs being jostled. The symptoms of a bulging disc are muscle spasms, tingling in the neck, arms, and shoulders, and radiating pain that can either go down through your legs or sometimes radiate up to your stomach or chest, depending on where the disc is bulging.

The hardships of treating back injuries

A back or neck injury can range from minor to severe, but in most instances, there is no quick fix for injuries from a trucking accident. Sometimes the patient will require extensive rehabilitation, and other times they might need corrective surgery. Depending on the severity and location of the injury, someone with a back injury may be incapable of functioning as they did before the accident and often cannot return to work.

If you sustain a back injury in a trucking accident, it is imperative that you seek medical attention immediately. Not only will you want to provide proof of causation, but sometimes what initially seems like a minor injury to your back or spine can become major over time. That is why it is crucial to seek the right medical professionals and get the necessary tests to minimize the damage that you experience. You will also want to consult with Law offices of Hugh Howerton and a truck accident lawyer who specializes in trucking accidents who can help you get all that you are entitled to for both your economic and noneconomic damages.

The Culture of Cars - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

$
0
0

The vehicle occupies a special place in America’s past, present, and future. In the last century, the automobile has radically changed the ways we live and work. Only now are some cities feeling the negative effects of all that urban sprawl, namely in the way it pretty much requires citizens to have a car to function properly. More cars also means more pollution, which has led to car companies and regular people alike trying to find ways to reduce the carbon footprint that comes with driving an automobile. Like a lot of American institutions, the car will have to change in the future to survive, even if the extent of those changes remains unclear.

Cars vs. public transit

There’s a lot to like about cars. People like to drive them, and others like to look at them or even collect them. Cities have even built successful tourism campaigns around the automobile. But they’re not always the most efficient transportation option. That means there’s been a push in some cities to improve and expand public transit options. That has worked better in some locales than others, but the fact remains that you have to live in at least a mid-sized city to have any sort of halfway decent public transit options. It doesn’t help public transit’s case that expanding routes often requires a small tax hike for residents, and there are plenty of drivers who think “If I don’t need a bus or train, why should anyone else?”

A lot of motorists also really like to drive by themselves. It’s a way to collect their thoughts on the way to or from another busy day at work. To combat that, most large cities have Heavily Occupied Vehicle lanes that are only usable if your car has at least two people inside it. You can drive alone, but if you do, you’ll have to deal with more traffic and a slower commute. In the future, the way we tax gasoline could also change, as some states have considered taxing drivers for use rather than imposing a flat fee at the pump.

Gas prices

Gas is pretty darn cheap right now. It’s definitely cheaper than it was just five years ago, and while that’s good for Americans’ bank accounts, it may not be so great for the environment. There’s more desire to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels when the average gas price is over $3 and approaching $4. People will buy cars with bad gas mileage now because they think gas prices are going to be low for the immediate future. However, that ignores the fact that the amount we pay for gas is expected to rise in 2018. It’s better to prepare for higher fuel prices now rather than be caught flat-footed when you pull into the gas station one day and see the price has topped $3 again.

To that end, there’s a small but growing amount of people who have converted their diesel-powered cars to run on biodiesel made by using cooking grease collected from restaurants and other places. Biodiesel is easier to get in some parts of the country than others, but if you can make the switch, you’ll be able to stop worrying about the inevitable price increase at the pump.

Being a counselor is all about having empathy for another human being, listening to their troubles and understanding their problems. Counselors don’t just fulfill one role throughout their careers because once qualified by taking an online masters in counseling, they’re able to consider several different jobs where this qualification is a counseling, or a psychology degree is a prerequisite.

Let’s look at a few jobs that you can do as a qualified counselor.

Child Abuse Counselor

Once you’ve qualified via masters in counseling programs available from Bradley University your career could take you into the role of child abuse counselor. Sometimes, counselors have undertaken additional specialized training on child abuse to be able to identify at-risk children who have been a victim of this horrible crime.

A child abuse counselor may or may not have been a victim previously themselves, but certainly, they have an affinity for kids and even feel a calling to provide therapeutic aid to the vulnerable children in society who are (or were) being preyed upon by adults.

Couples Counselor

For counselors that work particularly well with couples to help them overcome their communication difficulties and differences in their relationship, becoming a Couples Counselor can be very rewarding. Sometimes, the couple is counseled individually to work through more personal issues that are affecting one of the parties and their ability to be a good partner. This can be unresolved feelings about a past romantic betrayal, childhood abuse issues holding back intimacy, and other problems where individual counseling can help. Other times, the counselor sees both partners in a group session.

A Couples Counselor is also sometimes called a family therapist or a marriage therapist. Some work out of a church offering counseling assistance to religious couples, whether technically qualified to do so, or not.

Domestic Violence Counselor

The incidence of domestic abuse in the home is far more common than people like to admit. Sometimes, people who are victims have had several partners previously who were violent and continually manage to attract the wrong type of partner without realizing it. As well as the act of violence, being a victim of domestic violence in the home where they expect to feel the safest violates their personal space and creates trauma and patterns of behavior that are difficult to address alone.

A domestic violence counselor may (or may not) have experienced abusive relationships themselves, but probably has received additional training in this area. Being able to relate to victims of abuse makes it easier to get the patient to relax, open up and find ways together to resolve the issues they have at home. In some cases, that means moving away from the home, in which case a counselor is likely to be able to point their patient to safe refuge homes before resettling permanently.

There are many jobs that are suitable for counselors such as grief counseling, mental health counseling, and as a school counselor. With counseling, it’s often possible to move your career towards one specialization or another that suits your particular interests or skill-set better. When doing so, job satisfaction rises because it feels more like you’re fulfilling your calling.

Why Innovations Need Pension Plans - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Agility is crucial for any start-up venture, as it must be able to adapt to changing regulations, market conditions and the behaviour of customers.

Agility was certainly beneficial in helping start-ups when the government unveiled auto-enrolment, which was part of a pension reform plan that required employers to automatically enrol staff members in workplace schemes. Similarly, registered businesses were also required to contribute a minimum of 1% gross pay to their employees pensions, with this figure set to rise to 3% by the end of 2018.

With this in mind, it’s imperative that you set up pension schemes early as part of your start-up, while employees also need to play a pivotal role in ensuring that this is done successfully.

The Importance of Setting up Auto-enrollment

The regulations relating to auto-enrollment are pretty clear, and failing to comply with these can lead to significant financial sanctions. So, while auto-enrolment may be an administrative task by itself, it’s crucial that entrepreneurs play a leading role in enforcing this throughout their business.

The sheer cost of implementing auto-enrolment also makes a compelling argument for tackling this issue as early as possible. After all, a study released at the end of the first quarter of 2016 revealed that it costs start-ups and small businesses around £317 million cumulatively to achieve this objective, with much of this capital required to support back-end development. Such an expensive outlay will need to be factored into your start-up costs, otherwise you’ll be unable to offer auto-enrolment to your employees.

Addressing the Role of Employees – Why They Must Force Employers to Comply

Of course, the cost and time-consuming nature of implementing auto-enrolment may encourage some entrepreneurs to ignore this legislation, irrespective of the potential consequences of non-compliance. In this instance, there’s an onus on employees to understand their rights in the workplace and challenge their managers at all times, so that they highlight the problem and drive change within the business.

Employees are increasingly aware of their rights and pension options in the modern age, from traditional workplace schemes to the type of advanced, self-invested pension plans (SIPPs) offered by firms like Bestinvest. You’ll therefore be expecting to be automatically enrolled into a workplace pension scheme when you start work at a new company, while you’ll also know that the firm should provide contributions of at least 1% gross pay.

If these features are not included as part of your benefits package, you should raise this with recruiters as a matter of urgency. Not only will this help you to safeguard your own interests, but it will also ensure that your prospective employers remain compliant when looking to recruit the top talent.

Becoming an Entrepreneur: 4 Tips to Help You Get Started - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

A lot of people want to be entrepreneurs, but most of them are not actually prepared to deal with everything that comes before you begin to see any real success. While there’s nothing that can replace first-hand experience, you can most definitely increase your chances of seeing that success much faster by listening to what the experts have to say. On that note, here are five simple tips which should help you in getting started with relative smoothness as compared to most other new business owners.

Research

The first-mover advantage is overestimated and you would do well to spend time researching your business idea first than moving in too fast. While a business can be considered a race from certain perspectives, it is a long race and not a short one. Research about who else is already doing or has tried to do what you are planning to. Find out what makes your competition successful and what they are lacking. Think about the future; is it something that can be expected to stay in demand a few years down the line? Also, you must consider if there’s any opportunity for you to turn your business idea into something more profitable or essential than it is in its current state.

Decide on a Business Structure

Since you are going to start a business, you will need to plan for your taxes even before you begin and that’s why it is important to choose a business plan that appropriately suits what you are planning to do. Choose between establishing your business as a limited liability company (LLC), a traditional company, a partnership, a sole proprietorship or a small business after getting to know what each of these structures mean for your business’s future tax structure.

Assemble a Reliable Team

As an entrepreneur, your team consists of not only your partners and your employees, but also your suppliers, contractors, freelancers and just about anyone or any other company that’s associated with the business. You need to find a team that’s reliable and efficient, because the effort of the entire team can go to waste if you have even a single weak link in your team. For example, if you own a contracting company, you could have the best credentials and yet fail to win that all important contract if you don’t hire an experienced and competent bid writer to write the bid for you. Similarly, you need to have reliable people in all areas of the business that you are in. This of course, won’t happen in a day and you may have to go through a few bad experiences before getting the right team together.

Invest in the Right Kind of Marketing

Whether you are doing business online or offline, marketing is essential, but you also need to do it right. Choosing the right marketing strategy is what will mark the difference between boosting sales and squandering your limited resources on useless advertising.

While these points are meant to warn the young entrepreneurs against possible risks, it is to be remembered that no businessman ever became great by playing it safe. It’s just that the risks they took were calculated ones which paid off.

How to Start Your Own Community Cinema - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Have you been thinking about building a cinema in your community?  This can be an extremely exciting business idea and one that will benefit many people.  However, it’s important to remember that this is a business and it will cost you money to set up and run.  Below we’re going to cover the steps involved in starting your own community cinema.

1. Build a Strong Team

The first thing that you’ll need to do is build a strong team.  At the very least you will need people to help you with accounting, marketing, buying equipment and booking films.  With this team in place, you will then need to look at potential venues in your community. These don’t have to be traditional cinemas, as you can customize the venue for your needs.  Most community cinemas hold screenings once or twice a month, but it’s wise to pick somewhere that can be upscaled if it is a hit with your community.

2. Consider the Costs

Next, you’ll need to consider the costs.  Your main costs will include the venue and licenses, film booking and licenses, and any equipment you need for the space.  At a minimum here, you’ll need a good projector and sound system, some cinema seating, and things like cash registers and concession stands.  Check out Seating Concepts for your cinema seating, and ask a local gadget/technology store for their advice on the projector you’ll need.  You may want to hold a community fundraiser to help pay for the above costs, or you could charge an entrance fee to recoup them at a later date.

3. Obtain Your Licenses

It is illegal to screen a movie in a community setting without the proper licenses.  You will need a license for each film you screen, which can usually be purchased from your film distributor.  You will also need a license for your venue, which can be obtained from the local council.  You may also want to invest in insurance to protect you should anybody get injured while on the premises.  Also, if you plan to serve alcoholic drinks, you will also need to obtain a license for this.

4. Start Marketing

Once you have all of the above in place, you can choose your first film and start marketing it.  How you choose the first film is up to you, but you could ask the people in your community to vote on what they want to see to build up some buzz.  With the film chosen, you can hand out printed flyers, leave posters in shops or on advertisement boards, set up a website, and also use social media.  Word of mouth advertising will also be beneficial for a community cinema.

When the day of the first screening arrives, be sure to greet your community with big smiles and an open heart.  This could be the first of many great screenings, and you will become known in your area for your services.  We hope it goes well!

Modafinil – The Safe Drug you need to boost your Brain Power - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Imagine having a safe drug that can make you smarter! It sounds almost unbelievable right? Well, you better believe it! There is a safe pill that can make you smarter than you already are. A rigorous study was carried out on the smart drug, Modafinil, to check its effectiveness on brain power. Amazingly, the result came out to show that the drug has high potential to significantly increase cognition. Researchers have discovered that Modafinil has inherent properties to boost high-level cognitive functions. Interestingly, the drug comes with no serious side effects.

Outcome of Studies conducted on Modafinil

Since 1998, Modafinil has been prescribed to patients suffering from sleep-related illness such as sleep apnea and narcolepsy. A good number of researches have indicated that it can also offer other cognitive advantages, although, the result was not conclusive. To take the studies a step higher, another group of researchers at the University of Oxford evaluated another set of 24 reports printed between 1990 and 2014. This evaluation focused specifically on how modafinil influences cognition. The researchers discovered that the initial methods employed in analyzing the effectiveness of Modafinil seriously affected the result.

Studies that looked at the effects of the drug on the performance of easy task did not discover any significant benefits.Interestingly, participants that were asked to perform complex tasks after using modafinil in another study were more precise. Their cognitive ability increased significantly after taking the drug. The implication of the outcome of these studies is that modafinil has a great impact on the brainpower of the users. As a matter of fact, many doctors prescribe the smart drug to help their patients concentrate and improve their brain power.

Possible Side Effects of Modafinil

Hold on a bit! Do not run to the pharmacy yet. Studies on the usage of Modafinil have been conducted in a controlled environment and on a single dose. No study on long-term usage has been conducted yet. In addition to this, it is not known if the drug has the potential to lose its efficacy with continuous usage, as it is common with other drugs in its category. Few users who have taken a couple of dosage of Modafinil have reported some minor cases of side effects of the drug. Some of the side effects that were reported include a headache, insomnia and stomach ache.

Of course, these side effects are quite minor when compared to the potential potency of the drug. How an individual views the side effects is largely dependent on a lot of factors. If you are treating an illness, for instance, the above side effects might be worth tolerating. If you are not treating a medical condition, however, you might want to weigh the benefits with the side effects.

Other Alternative Intelligence Pills to Modafinil

The search for the means to boost brainpower has been on for time immemorial among humans. People want something that can heighten their awareness and keep them in optimal shape mentally. While there are thousands of online pharmacies which are providing over 3500 medicines, it is important to note that most of them are not approved by govt bodies while the pharmacies like meds4sure.com are regulated and provide legal prescription drugs which ensures that quality of the medicines is not compromised. Within the last century, scientific research had been conducted on various drugs to see how safe and effective they are in improving cognitive functions. However, only modafinil has shown positive effects on cognitive enhancement after meticulous tests. Apart from showing positive effects, it also seems to be the only safe drug that works on the brain. Other alternatives to this smart drug are detailed below.

Nicotine

Nicotine is a stimulant that has been in use for hundreds of years. It is used for a wide range of medical functions. Nicotine is very addictive and comes with some hazardous side effects. As much as possible, health care practitioners try to discourage off-label usage of this substance because of possible abuse.

Caffeine

This is one of the most famous and oldest stimulants in human history. People have known the stimulant properties of caffeine for thousands of years. Caffeine improves attention and alertness in people. Unfortunately, the effects of caffeine in humansare usually short-lived and over time, tolerance to the stimulant builds up. This is one big shortcoming of caffeine. People get used to it fast and it loses its potency on people within a short period of time.

Methylphenidate

This drug was first marketed by pharmaceutical companies in 1954 and was prescribed first in the 60s for the treatment of hyper-activity. In the 1990s, it became famous for ADHD. Methylphenidate has the properties to enhance memory and focus for individuals with ADHD. It is also used as off-label drug to aid study and work. Some individuals develop the tolerance for the drug over a period of time.

Amphetamine

Also known as Adderall and Benzedrine, Amphetamine was first synthesized around 1887. It was the first drug that was used to treat hyper-activity among children. It has the properties that can improve memory and attention by heightening the levels of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain. Amphetamine comes with a wide range of side effects such as disturbed sleep, loss of appetite, psychosis, and hyper-activity. It is also very addictive.

Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor

This drug was approved for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease around the 90s. Acetylcholinesterase has also indicated the potentials to enhance memory and focus among healthy adults.

Are Cognitive Enhancing Drugs for everyone?

Just like with all medicines, cognitive enhancing medications have diverse effects on people. It all depends on the body system of an individual. To check for the effectiveness and side effects of drugs, some factors should be considered. Below are the groups of individuals who need special considerations when it comes to cognitive enhancing drugs.

Children and Teenagers

Cognitive enhancing drugs can have significant effects in the brain development of this group of people. Many clinical studies have shown that modafinil is safe for usage among children with a hyper-activity disorder as well as attention deficit children. However, this study lasted for just a couple of months. This makes it quite difficult to conclude the potential risks and effects of long-term usage.

Individuals with Low IQs

Studies show that cognitive enhancing medications have a positive effect on people with below-average intelligence.

Older Adults

According to studies, older adults might not gain so much from using cognitive enhancing drugs.
