The first thing to do is to create a contact list. Create different categories according to type and need. Operating aerial lifts has its share of risks to the lives of construction workers including fatalities from tip overs/collapses, falls or electrocutions. There are a number of safety measures however that can significantly reduce the risks associated with these vehicle-mounted aerial platforms used to access aboveground job sites such as utility lines. 

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA, has set aside about 10 key safety guidelines for operating aerial lifts. In this writeup, we provide three main safety measures that you cannot afford to ignore when operating the lifts. 

  1. Get the requisite training and test before you operate aerial lifts 

Employers are under obligation to hire only well trained aerial lift operators, train and test them on the safety procedures before allowing them to operate. However, this is not solely the responsibility of the employer, the operator needs to also do their part to ensure they are well-honed for the task.

When someone is a “naturalized” citizen, it means that they are legally a citizen of the United States. Naturalization is the process that someone from another country has to go through to become a US citizen. The first step in the process is to apply and be qualified for citizenship in America. 

Once the application is completed, the person must go through an interview, take an English speaking exam and pass a civics test. Once all of those steps are completed and passed, any individual who wants to be a naturalized citizen must take an oath to be loyal to America, and then they are eligible to become a citizen of the United States. The reason that applicants must jump through so many hoops is to ensure that they are serious about being a loyal citizen.

Who is eligible for naturalization?

There are specific eligibility requirements that are set by US Citizenship and Immigration Services. The requirements are:

  • You must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • You must be a permanent resident
  • You must be both physically present and a resident of the US for a minimum of five years prior to completing an application
  • You must be of “high” moral character

For someone to be considered a resident, there are rules and some exceptions that apply to those who leave the country for an extended period of time. Before you assume that you have the right residency established, it is important to check with an immigration lawyer to know exactly what is expected and what qualifies. The USCIS also has a specific Naturalization Eligibility Worksheet that helps potential applicants learn if they have the necessary requirements to go through the application process.

  • You must arrive at the location to have your fingerprints taken
  • You must have your fingerprints documented
  • You must supply any additional documents that the immigration office might require

The interview and test

The last step, which is the most extensive and critical, is that you will have to:

  • Be notified of your scheduled interview appointment
  • Go to the office at your scheduled time
  • Bring in the proper identification to verify yourself
  • Answer any and all questions pertaining to both your background and your application
  • Take a civics and English test

When all is completed, you will receive a decision as to whether you passed or not and if you can proceed to the next steps.

Taking the Allegiance Oath

If you have been accepted and have completed all the other steps, then you are eligible to finish the last part, which is to take the oath of allegiance. You will:

  • Be given a ceremony date
  • Show up on your ceremony date
  • Turn in your Permanent Resident Card to the proper authorities
  • Answer all and any questions about the time you have spent since the interview process
  • Take the official oath of allegiance to complete the process

They are also on the minds of those who are looking to change their hair in a big way and those whose hair will not grow. Are hair extensions right for you? Well, you have come to the right place to find out. Here you will find a list of pros and cons of getting hair extensions. You will also find information about how they are applied, how long they last, and how to care for them. Pro – Long Hair. Many people want to have long flowing hair, but they struggle with growing it out. This can happen for all manner or reasons including but certainly not limited to, illness, medications, genetics, and fine brittle hair. Any time the balance of your body’s chemicals are thrown out of balance it causes your hair to slow down its growth. This includes when a short term or long term illness sets in, the medications that an illness requires can also throw your body off kilter. Not only can you add length and volume to your hair with hair extensions, you can also add any color you can imagine, By using hair extensions to add color to your hair you avoid having to use harsh, damaging chemicals that cause hair to break and frizz. This is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a more natural approach to coloring or is dealing with a medical issue that doesn’t allow for the use of chemicals.

Con- Getting Used To Your Extra Hair. If you are new to hair extensions and have never worn them before, you will have an adjustment period. It will take a few days to become used to the sensation of having them in. Plus, be prepared for your head to feel heavier for the first 2-3 days after getting them.

Caring for Your New Hair Extensions. It is important to wash your hair every other day and always make sure to detangle your hair before washing it. Be sure you are using sulfate or paraben free shampoo as other kinds will cause damage to your extensions. Always avoid going to bed with wet hair; when heading to bed make sure your hair is completely dry and it is best to wear it in a braid or pigtails. These are the most ideal ways to wear your hair to bed because they eliminate as much pulling of the hair as possible. Speaking of which, go to great lengths to avoid pulling or tugging on your extensions.

Types of  Hair Extensions. There are several different types of hair extensions and each one has its own level of  quality. The first one to take into consideration is synthetic hair. This type is the lowest quality hair extensions available. They are made with plastic fibers, low grade acrylic. These fibers are made in such a way as to look and feel like actual human hair. This is the same type of hair used on dolls and is the cheapest variety. Next up is a type of hair extension call non-remy hair. This type is actual human hair with the cuticle not intact. This is the lowest grade of human hair extensions that you can get and generally lasts only a few weeks. The next three types are what is what is referred to as remy hair. There are  three levels of remy hair; low quality, high quality, and virgin.

What is remy hair? the term remy refers to the method of manufacturing and the characteristics of the hair. The hair used in remy extensions are harvested in such a way as to keep the follicles aligned in a single direction because all of the hair strands remain aligned in the natural direction. The top at the top and the ends and the bottom. Remy hair is only lightly processed where the cheaper extensions undergo a great deal of processing. The lowest grade of remy hair extensions do not have the cuticle intact  and are coated in silicone so as to appear shiny and soft. The next level referred to as high quality remy does have the cuticle intact and are not coated in silicone. Finally, there is the virgin remy hair extensions. This type is the most expensive hair extensions available. The reason this kind of extension is so expensive is because it is somewhat rare (or at least uncommon) and it takes much more work to process. Virgin remy hair will last around a year, making it the longest lasting extensions available.

Here is a breakdown of the approximate cost of each type of extension.

  • Synthetic – One pack is less than $50
  • Non-Remy – $60 + Per pack
  • Low Quality Remy –  $80 – $100 per pack
  • High Quality Remy – Around $100 per pack
  • Virgin Remy – $200 + per pack

Keep in mind that these are approximations and could vary either way depending on the length of hair you want, how much you are buying at a time, and where you purchase the extensions from. Also remember that these prices are per pack, therefore if you want a lot of extensions, you can end up spending hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Almost everything has already gone digital, and not everyone has a PC on hand at any moment because they depend on their phones. There is a solution I would even recommend, as much as I love paper copies and the standard PDF. Flipbooks. You can insert links, pictures, and text together in multiple arrangements based on your clientele’s preferences. Oklahoma’s Deadliest Oil Rig Explosion in Years - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

In January of this year, five bodies were recovered from one of the deadliest oil rig explosions in Oklahoma since 2010, when the Deepwater Horizon accident happened in the Gulf of Mexico. The rig that exploded was owned by Houston’s Patterson-UTI, which is one of the largest hydraulic and drilling companies in the United States. The explosion was so horrific that the burned bodies could not be recovered from the flames for days. 

Patterson-UTI has been working overtime for a decade to revamp its image because they were once known as one of the worst offenders when it came to safety in the energy industry, but their adherence to safety may be called into question once again.

The explosion is an obvious setback to Patterson-UTI Energy which has tried very hard to restore its image in the industry over the past decade. Known as one of the worst of the worst energy companies in terms of safety, it has worked tirelessly to clean things up and to restore itself as a reputable business, but it may now be even more of a challenge.

The accident happened at the drilling site of Quinton, Oklahoma, just about one hundred miles outside of Tulsa. There were over twenty workers present at the site at the time of the explosion. Luckily, 16 of them were able to flee and were spared without any major injuries. There was just one Patterson-UTI employee who was lifted by air to the hospital, but after being treated, he was released.

In the 2000s, Patterson-UTI had the most fatalities of any other work side in the United States. In 2008, a report was released on the Senate floor indicating that there were 12 workers killed at the Texas drilling site in a four-year span.

Although aware of its indiscretions, Patterson-UTI’s practices didn’t cease to end in tragedy. According to OSHA, Patterson-UTI’s accidents have been less frequent, but still continued to happen. In 2010, a worker was killed at the rig site near San Antonio, and in August of the following year, another fatality occurred at the rig near Carrizo Springs.

There was also a citation in 2012 when a worker fell off a rig and to his death. Federal investigators noted that the beams of the rig were so caked with oil that they were barely visible, which was likely the cause for the worker’s fall. 

Hendricks, the CEO who came onboard in 2012 as the company was trying to restore their reputation, maintains that the company has spent more than $150 million trying to upgrade their equipment and enhance safety training to reduce workplace hazards. The company has instilled a “stop work” if any hazard is noticed, whereby everyone on the rig is supposed to cease operations immediately.

The rig that exploded was operated by Red Mountain Energy and had drilled nearly two and half miles underground, at which point, the explosion happened. The youngest of the victims of the explosion was 26-year-old Cody Risk, who had only been working with with the company for two weeks when the explosion happened.

The death of this young worker has enlivened some debate about training periods and the risk that new workers pose to industries, particularly industries that involve manual labor. Workers are in short supply, so most of the people who are working on rigs don’t have the experience or industry knowledge to be there, but are there anyway.

Authorities believe that since Patterson-UTI has begun to clean up their act, things have become more safer in the oil rig industry. They were doing a fairly good job of restoring their reputation in the industry and had an increasingly positive record of worker safety until the recent incident in January. 

Although it is not acceptable to lose anyone in an oil rig explosion, oil rigging is a very dangerous industry and workers who sign up for the job are aware of the risks. Patterson-UTI appears to have escaped the incident in January without too much damage to its recovering reputation. If it can manage to avoid any major accidents in the future, they just might be able to salvage themselves after yet another accident.

2. Use keywords 

Look, recruiters are busy people and they have a lot of resumes to go through. Unfortunately this mans that most of them are not going to read your resume in its entirety. These include those infuriating applications that make you fill out your entire resume in sections and then submit the resume anyway. In these cases, the software will be looking for appropriate keywords to push your resume through as viable. No keywords? The recruiter may never even see your resume.

3. Show don’t tell

Instead of just listing the ways you helped your company, show it. The skills section on your resume is one of the most important, however, hiring recruiters need to see examples of what exactly you did to earn those skills. Instead of simply saying that you helped increase your companies’ social media following by 8,000—explain how you did that. Giving examples is a sure fire way to impress recruiters and instil confidence in your ability to do the job. 

4. Use some design skill

While we don’t encourage you to go over the top with this one, using a simple and tasteful header on your resume that includes your name, address, and professional title. Modifying a classic resume template this way is a great way to stand out from the pile. Find examples of resume headers to inspire you and give you a better understanding of what you should design.

5. Proofread!

It should go without saying, but many people still fail to adequately proofread their resume before submitting it. Even if you’re not applying for a writing job, having a grammatical or spelling error in your resume suggests lack of attention to detail and someone who rushes their work—something no employer wants on board.
