Conversations to Have with a Loved One Who’s Ill - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

If someone you love is ill, and nearing death, there are some conversations you’ll want to have with them before the end. Death is a difficult time, no less so because it means an end of communication. As their passing nears, there are some practical things you’ll want to discuss with your loved one, and some more personal things as well.

Take Your Cues From Them

If your loved one isn’t ready to talk about death yet, don’t push it. Sooner or later, they’ll likely open up to the conversation. They want to have these conversations too, but they may not be willing to face them at a moment’s notice. They may want to laugh and talk casually most of the time, but if they make a suggestive comment, like not being around for a future event, you can try to lead in, then.

Discuss Their Burial

Not every conversation regarding a loved one’s death may be personal. You’ll also want to make sure you understand their burial wishes. While it can seem like a weird conversation to have, it will often make your loved one feel better. They’ll know that you care enough to honor their preferences, and this conversation can be a great way to ease the tension. It’s not as emotional; it’s more of a straightforward conversation about practical steps. You can discuss the options at hand, such as donating their body to science, embalming, or cremation services in Massachusetts or New Hampshire. You can select a funeral provider together, taking a load off of both your minds.

Say Sorry

Once the less personal details are taken care of, you might want to try to have those harder conversations. Now is the time to express remorse for past events and behaviors. If you have regrets, be upfront and ask for their forgiveness. Don’t expect them to likewise say sorry. Just do your part and expect nothing more, making this not about mutual understanding, but a personal step in letting go of some of those regrets. Voicing them can be powerful.

Say I Forgive You

If your loved one chooses to meet your level of openness, they may also express regrets and ask for forgiveness. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to express forgiveness and help remove some of those unresolved issues. Your loved one may not be able to ask for forgiveness, however, but you can still forgive them silently. That moment of expressing forgiveness in their presence, even if not out loud, can be a powerful experience.

Say Thank You and I Love You

There will be a few more things you want to say to your loved one, before they pass. Forgiveness is the hardest topic to express with a passing loved one, and once you’ve confronted it, you’ll find that the remaining conversations are easier. Going forward, you can focus on telling them you love them, and thanking them for the good they brought into your life. Together, you can make sure there are few, if any, things that go unsaid.

How Medicine is Made - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

You may have wondered just how medicine gets created. We no longer drink a powder of herbs, ground for us by the local apothecary. We now take pills, use creams, or drink bubble-gum-pink liquids. We don’t know where the power in our medicine comes from, or where scientists discovered that power in the first place. The science of medicine is fascinating, so if you’ve ever wanted to know how medicine is made, keep reading!

Where Does it All Begin?

Say you’ve got a health issue you want to solve. Let’s look at essential tremors, a disorder that affects 2.2% of the US population, especially the elderly. You may have a passion for treating that particular disorder. You probably won’t start with the disease, however. You’ll start with the cure.

Medicine usually begins with a plant or other material (such a fungus; the first antibiotics were discovered accidentally). If a scientist were to begin with a problem, they might spend their entire lives haphazardly guessing at solutions. Instead, a scientist begins with a plant that has promising properties. They may or may not know what the plant’s eventual power will be. From there, testing begins.

In the Lab

Medicines are developed in specialized labs. A group of scientists work with companies like Western Environmental in Franklin, OH and have a laboratory developed. There, the scientists work in safe conditions, isolating the the separate compounds of the plant. Once they’re able to isolate the compounds, they test them. They may put the compound in a petri dish to test its effect on bacteria; they may work with living organisms to test its effect on a body. Once they think they’ve hit on something, they work slowly to test the compound in various trials until they’re ready to begin testing their new drug with us–human beings.

Clinical Trials

Before moving onto clinical trials, scientists have to be sure the drug is relatively safe. Participating in a clinical trial, however, does come with some risk. At this stage, scientists don’t know what a drug’s side effects may be, so they carefully monitor symptoms and risks in patients. From smaller groups, they move onto larger groups, watching for any negative side effects and making sure the drug is actually effective. If all goes well, through each stage of the trials, then the drug is ready for production.

Quite a bit of time and care go into the drugs we use every day. Consider natural remedies for essential tremors like Tremor Miracle. At the beginning of this article, we wondered how a scientist would find a solution for that disorder. They may have worked with existing discoveries on what compound does what, or they may have started with a compound only–with no specific disorder in mind. Through care, research, and testing, they developed a remedy that can be used for a specific health issue. Not every drug has a problem in mind, but every research project is performed with the same goal: finding new ways to heal.

Diamonds to Cryptocurrency: 5 Ways to Grow Your Income - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Just about everyone could benefit from a little extra cash. Between utility bills, college educations (our own or our kids), medical bills, and vacations we wish we could take, we all hope for a little extra money now and then. If your current job isn’t bringing in the cash you need, you can consider a few side options for growing your wealth at home. Most are easy, and a few require next-to-no effort. If you want to see which method is right for you, check out the following list.

Invest in Cryptocurrency

Bitcoin. Blockchain. If you’re not up-to-date on the fast-emerging world of online currency, now might be the time to start researching. The principles are the same as ordinary stock investment, but the world of online currency is moving fast and in demand. Investing in cryptocurrency stocks, if you know how to play the market right, could be a great way to bring in income on the side.

Sell Your Diamonds and Jewelry Online

If you have high-end jewelry lying around the house, from brands like Harry Winston or Bulgari, you may be able to sell your diamonds and jewelry online for extra cash. If you’ve got your great-aunt’s engagement ring, and you know you don’t want to keep it, you could sell it online. The money you recieve could help take a dent out of your loans or give you the funds to take a bucket-list vacation.

Open a Business on the Side

You can keep your current job and your current salary, but you might want to consider opening a business on the side. A small online business, like an online store or an Etsy shop, can be run on fewer hours than a physical store, and the profit you make from your online sales could be just what you’re looking for. That extra pillow of cash could make setting up the side business completely worth it.

Become a Freelancer

Similar to opening a side-business, you can also bring in some extra cash working as a freelancer. If you’ve got a good set of skills in IT, writing, graphic design, or marketing, you could be a valuable asset to a company–one who’s willing to hire you remotely, for part-time work. That extra side-line of a job you probably already do could grow your income while keeping you flexible.

Ask for a Raise

If your current salary is pinching your pennies, it doesn’t hurt to ask for a raise. You might get it, and the extra income might soothe your financial worries. Then again, you might not get it, but asking for the promotion might spur you on to look for better jobs. If you could make more money at a different company, you can consider taking your talent elsewhere.

Making more money can be a challenge. When it comes to growing your income, however, work smarter, not harder. Consider implementing one of these easy ways of increasing your monthly earnings.

5 Signs You May Need To Hire An IT Consultant - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

Hiring an IT consultant, or a team of consultants, can be quite expensive. While IT consulting is well-worth the investment, you’ll want to make sure that you actually need consulting – before you pull the trigger.

In this article, we’ll take a look at the top 5 signs that you might need to hire an IT consultant. Take a look, and see if IT consulting is right for you!

1. You Lack An In-House IT Expert Or CIO

This is especially common in smaller businesses. Maybe you have a few reliable IT staff members, but none of them are real IT experts – just day-to-day administrators with a more limited skillset.

Hiring a CIO or another IT administrator can be very expensive – so you may not want to invest in a full-time employee.

However, you need a forward-thinking executive who can truly direct your IT programs – so hiring an IT consultant is a great investment. An IT consultant can help fill in the gaps of your existing IT team, and provide you with valuable input and insights.

2. You Need An Outside Perspective

Whether you’re the owner of a small business voip, or an IT administrator, it can be easy to “miss the forest for the trees.” When you’re working on the same project for an extended period of time, you can lose your perspective – and your work will suffer for it.

IT consultants offer you an outsider’s perspective, and may be able to come up with novel solutions to problems that you didn’t even know you had!

3. You Need A Specialized Skill Set

Consultants are great for temporary projects where you need a specialized skill-set. For example, if you’re launching a new Microsoft SharePoint-based intranet, you can hire a consultant or two to help you set it up, and transfer administration duties to your IT staff.

This allows you to avoid hiring a full-time employee, but lets you still benefit from a deep, specialized skill set.

4.You’re On A Tight Budget

Consultants can help you stretch a tight IT budget. Because you can hire a consultant based on hourly or daily rates, you can choose how much money you want to invest in IT consulting.

Not only that, a great consultant can help you cut costs – and extend your budget. For example, you may be running redundant servers or pieces of software, or have outdated IT infrastructure that you can mothball to save money.

This makes an IT consultant a great investment, even if you are running on a small budget. You can get all the help you need – without it costing an arm and a leg!

5. You’re Thinking About Outsourcing Your IT Needs

Many small-to-medium-size businesses (SMBs) choose to outsource their IT services to another company. This is a great way to save money on hiring IT personnel, and become a more agile, flexible business.

However, you may not be sure if outsourcing your IT services is a good idea. A consultant can help you understand what to expect when you outsource IT services. Together, you can create an outline of a transition plan, and discuss what kind of infrastructure, services, and personnel you’ll be outsourcing.

And if you hire a consultant from a company that also offers outsource IT, you’ll get a good idea of the quality of services you can expect – so you can be sure that you’ll choose the right Managed Service Provider (MSP) for all of your IT needs.

Use This List – And Find The Right IT Consultant!

IT consulting is not a “magic bullet” that can fix all of your organizational problems. But experienced, knowledgeable consultants can change your company for the better – so they’re well worth the consulting fees.

So take another look at this list now, and think about how you can benefit from finding the right IT consultant!

Starting an online T-Shirt Business: What you need to know! - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

With the introduction of online shopping and reliable eCommerce, it’s easy to see why online stores are becoming the main focus of leading brands around the globe. Allowing a much larger target audience to be reached in comparison to a store, shopping online is quickly becoming the main source of our beloved brands. But advancements in services available also makes it easy for smaller brands to quickly gain traction – setting up a global distribution service has never been easier, meaning starting your online business has never been more simple. In this article I hope to cover the cornerstones of your start up, and what you should consider when establishing your online store.

Create and design a mockup

Before you move into choosing eCommerce platforms or make a marketing plan, it’s always vital to have an initial idea of the product you’re going to sell, so that the rest of your actions can be tailored to it.

Having the option to see your design on different styles of t-shirt can be incredibly helpful for both you and a customer, as they can see the product they would receive, and view the product on an actual person. Oberlo’s t-shirt templates is a great place to look for templates – in their article they are offering a variety of different tools which allow you to work with your graphic and display it on your site in a way that suits your needs. For instance on a model or displaying your design on different styles of t-shirts, to give the customer a better idea of how the design will look in person.

Choose the right eCommerce platform for you

When distributing a product online it’s very easy to get bogged down in technicalities without using a third party platform. For online shopping, a key third party element is an eCommerce platform. Choosing the right one for your product is an important step in making your business as successful as it can be.

Although price might be one of the most important factors, choosing an eCommerce platform that suits your long term needs is also vital, as this is the foundation on which your store will be built on. DisruptiveAdvertising has an in-depth article covering some of the leading platforms and their respective merits, explaining factors you’ll need to consider such as ease of use, store templates available, and customer support.

Distribution

While online stores can be a reliable way to establish a brand quickly, any online distribution needs to be backed by a reliable shipping system. It’s generally straightforward to manually ship out products when a business is small, but thinking long term it’s important to put a system in place which can be automated.

Shopify, and some other eCommerce platforms, provide systems which use a third party supplier that manufacture the t-shirts, and then ship them by request of the seller – Shopify’s ‘Understanding Dropshipping’ goes into this in more depth. This is usually the method used by most distributors, as it provides a simple way to ship products and is integrated with a service they’re already familiar with. An alternative to this would be contacting your own supplier, who manages distribution for you upon request.

Making a marketing plan

Once a foundation for your business is in place, establishing a marketing plan can give a big edge over rivaling competitors, and help sustain your brand by aiding growth in the future. Understanding the audience you’re selling to is an important first step when devising a plan, which in this context could be done by understanding who might wear your t-shirt design, and tailoring your store design to that style or genre. Ben Fewtrell’s discussion on‘Why 8 out of 10 businesses fail’ provides some more general insight into what a successful business needs.

Competitors are an important aspect of a business to keep in mind, and keeping an edge over them will give your brand the upper hand. Making note of their successful designs or ideas and using this as inspiration for your own product can give you the upper hand and help you gain traction.

Senior Year Made Easy - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

Reaching senior year feels like you have completed a race and you are now about to get the freedom to do all things you like in life. But in most cases the opposite is true and this is one of the most challenging stages in every student’s life. This stage comes with a lot of excitement and is also sometimes engulfed in worries, which could be damaging. Many students have even found themselves depressed because of the intense pressure that comes with senior year, and that’s why you should not allow yourself to get to such levels.

Here are some tips that will help you avoid reaching a situation where you will get overwhelmed by situations.

Organize your time

One of the challenges of senior year is managing time because it reaches a point when you are expected to complete classes and many assignments. With many assignments to complete, life may feel challenging, and that’s why it makes sense to hire someone to help with dissertation writing. Delegating tasks like writing your assignments will afford you more time that can then be used to complete other things. Just master organization and you will always clear all burdens to keep your mind focused.

Get motivated

To keep your grades up and to get the energy to face all your challenges, you should stay motivated. You don’t want to ruin the progress you have made for years during the last phase. There are several ways you can get the motivation you need to keep moving. Set goals and work towards achieving them. It does not matter whether you have decided that you will increase your class rank by 5 or something. Just set goals and always read positive things. You also need to watch the company you keep in this phase of your learning as some people could drag you down with their lack of optimism.

Set priorities and pursue them

Your senior year should not be ruined by the lack of a clear pathway. It’s advisable to set priorities and adhere to them as required. Many students get sidetracked because they start doing a lot of things at the same time. This can only make you forget some important tasks that count in your education, so be sure to define your priorities and follow them.

Have fun

Although senior year is an important part of your education, you should not make this the most miserable stage in school. Have fun and balance between hanging out with friends and academics. Focusing on academics alone might end up ruining your experience in school and it could end up affecting your grades, so free up and have fun while also watching your academics.

Completing one stage and transitioning to another comes with a lot of excitement. This is something you will see when you get to your senior year. It is an interesting stage in every student’s life, and it also comes with a lot of responsibilities. Don’t let senior year make your life miserable. Have fun and make sure to balance between academics and friends. Get help where necessary to reduce the burdens.

How a Mortgage Broker Helps You Find a Home Loan - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0

You’re looking for a home loan and have begun your research process online. After looking through comparison sites, lender websites, and reviews you’re more overwhelmed than when you started. You have so many questions about terms like ‘loan to value ratio’, fees with long sounding names, and you want to know the difference between a comparison rate and effective rate.

If you’re finding the process of looking for a home loan daunting, then a mortgage broker can help. Here are 4 ways they can help you:

Whole of the Market Comparison

Although online research has made it easier to compare rates yourself, it can still be a time-consuming process. Visiting each individual lender websites, enquiring about rates, and comparing the terms they offer might be too much of a hassle for you, especially if you’re time poor.

Being able to compare the entire mortgage market is an excellent advantage of using a UK mortgage broker. Brokers who are “Whole of the market” have access to the greatest number of loans and will be able to find the best rate for you. This is in contrast to some brokers who only have access to a select panel of lenders.

Exclusive Deals

In addition to whole of the market comparisons, mortgage brokers have access to “broker exclusive deals”. These might offer rates and terms that are better than going direct to a lender. By using a mortgage broker, you can gain access to these deals and take advantage of the rates that only brokers can provide you with.

Convenience

Making a loan application involves a lot of paperwork and administration. From providing financial statements, personal documents, and proof of income, the tasks are plentiful and time-consuming. You probably don’t have the time or inclination to do all this yourself.

A mortgage broker can help you with all of this. They will gather your financial information, provide the necessary documents to the lenders, and complete the loan application for you. It’s much more convenient than attempting to do it yourself.

Advice

The entire process of applying for and getting approved for a loan can be daunting, whether you’re a first home buyer or a repeat buyer. The number of loan options available, issues during the underwriting process, and obstacles to getting approved make applying for a loan overwhelming for most people.

Mortgage brokers can provide you with advice for finding the right home loan for you. They’ll take into account your needs, financial situation, and loan facilities you require and guide you through the entire loan approval process.

Mortgage Brokers Can Help Find The Right Home Loan For You

Mortgage brokers help you to find the right home loan by providing the whole of market comparisons, access to broker exclusive deals, making the loan application process convenient, and providing advice where you need it.

  • Optimize your inventory levels and never have shortage or overproduction situations.
  • Better purchasing options with detailed information about each supplier.

  • Take baby-steps

Planning for short-term and reviving your short-term goals with the progression of time helps you achieve your long-term goals.

  • Start from the scratch, plan for your next-day or week in advance.
  • Prioritize your to-do tasks and execute them accordingly.

This does not only avoids the confusion and provides goal-clarity but also develops a   positive mindset to complete your tasks. Priority should be based on a combined system of time-sensitivity, productivity, and correspondence. Prefer quality over quantity when jotting down the sequence of assignments.

  • First things first

E-mails consist a large part of your errands on a work-day. Customers, fellow businessmen, dealers etc., bombard you with their e-mails and if you do not take care of them straight away, they are going to be a headache later on.

Do not keep checking e-mails and pushing responses aside for a later time. Instead, assign a time-period where your main focus is on the reverting back to the e-mails and messages. This will let you handle all pressing concerns in time and also, incoming mails do not interrupt your Modus operandi.

  • Virtualize your services

Feedbacks from the customer and responding to them are a vital part of your business. You wish you could dodge these petty issues and focus on more important aspects. That is possible, by installing a virtual chatbot for Customer Service. Many tools like Botsify etc. let you make your own chatbot with help of the Facebook messenger.

Once deployed these virtual helpers can get a load off your shoulders by answering FAQ, accepting customer reviews and so on. This way you can shift your attention to the matters which are more important.

  • Manage your time well

Many retailers face problems when things get hectic, they start to crumble under pressure. Proper time-management is the key to remain unaffected by the busy-routine and hustling up to your fullest potential.

For eg., let’s say you commute to your workplace by public-transport, you can manage your e-mails on the way and back. These little habits will keep your mind free in the store and you will be able to tackle adverse situations. Taking a short break every 2-3 hours is an effective method of keeping your brain awake. Working continuously causes hazy-concentration and leads to unproductivity. You should take a quick walk, grab a snack at fixed time intervals to remain attentive to the task.

  • Look at the bigger picture

The motive of the business is compromised when the employees are not clear about what the company is looking to accomplish. So, goal-clarity is the key to success whether the business venture is big or small. You need to constantly remind your workers what is your company trying to achieve, without that the hard work may go in vain and business may go off track. Take a look at what state your business is in now. After analysing the current scenario, you need to plan the next step to move to the desired position. Communication between workers is very important for efficient productivity and creates a healthy workspace as well.

  • To sum up!

Strategic planning and proper execution of the charted course is extremely necessary to make your Business stand out from others. You need to have a backup plan as well in case if anything goes against the plan. Also, keeping up with the latest softwares and organizing tools is as important as having a good team of skilled individuals. So, we hope the above points will clear the confusion regarding what steps to take to make your company more systematized.

Debating Different Directions - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

When it comes to a career in psychology, there are many different pathways to choose from. Do you want to go straight into private practice, or would you prefer a group setting? Do you want to work with kids or adults? It’s a lot to consider, but it’s essential all the same.

Picking a path

Jennifer Taylor published a salient piece on Practice of the Practice covering the pros and cons of group versus solo practice. Choosing the right path for you is no easy decision. She highlights the fact that your personality type is a major viable. It should come as no surprise that extroverts are more likely to enjoy group settings, whereas introverts more frequently prefer the solitary ones. Another obvious variable is the patient population that you’re expected to treat. Joining a group practice won’t necessarily permit you much freedom of choice or flexibility, but at least you’re always likely to have clients. On the other hand, running a private practice would afford almost unilateral decision-making power over such topics, but at the cost of having a more uncertain clientele.

Private practice

Lots of psychologists hope to establish their own private practice. Doing so successfully is another story. They have to consider and balance a host of competing variables to run a business the right way while maintaining exceptional client service. A lot of people completely underestimate the business side of the equation and instead fixate too much on therapy. That’s a mistake easily avoided with some honest self-reflection and some thorough due diligence.

Get experience

Consider another qualified perspective. Tori DeAngelis at the American Psychological Association (APA) openly questioned whether or not aspiring psychologists are ready for private practice. She brings up some incredibly persuasive points. The first and most compelling point has to do with gaining practical experience within a supervised setting of fellow practitioners, some of whom are likely to be experts with considerable tacit knowledge. That’s a critically linked to her later point: develop new talents. That’s much more difficult to accomplish operating by yourself.

Group settings

Fortunately, there’s no shortage of group settings that might fit the ideal career situation. You can explore a relatively comprehensive list of career options working with kids, thanks to writers at Affordable Colleges. A standout example from the list is counseling, which is a fairly broad category itself. So broad, in fact, you will need to investigate the difference between a school counselor and a school psychologist. While both career paths let you work within a formal educational setting (i.e., K-12, private institutions, etc.) and share some overlapping responsibilities, they ultimately perform unique functions.

Get an advanced degree

Forging meaningful relationships with children is absolutely possible, regardless of which path you choose. The most important differences are expectations around adult peer interactions and the type of interventions you administer (and for what purpose). Either way, you’ll have to pursue an advanced degree in order to advance these goals. It’s never too early to begin searching for a promising school counselor program. The sooner you can align present efforts with future ambitions, the sooner you can make them a reality.

3 Health Aids You Didn’t Know You Needed - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

As all-natural health products become more and more of a trend, it’s easy to lose track of the various options available. With so many out there, who’s to say what’s the best, what works, and what’s worth it? While not all health products are created equal, and no health aid should be a substitute for medical attention, these three health trends could help to put a pep in your step.

Apple Cider Vinegar

“Yuck.” That’s just about anyone’s first thought. The second is usually, “Surely you don’t expect me to drink the stuff?” While the thought of tossing it back like a vodka shot might send your skin crawling, apple cider vinegar actually has quite a few health benefits–making it a quick (and highly effective) addition to your daily health routine. Apple cider vinegar helps restore your body’s pH levels, regulates blood sugar levels, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure–just to name a few! While we should all be somewhere neutral on the pH scale, most of us have an alkaline or acidic inside, and balancing that pH level can help with immune system health, weight loss, cholesterol, acid reflux, and more.

CBD Oil

You may have never heard of CBD oil, and that’s okay! But in the next decade, you might hear a lot more about it due to the fact that the US government is currently beginning to research the myriad of health benefits that it can offer. As of the most recent studies, it’s been found to have positive benefits on both the mind and the body. CBD oil has been shown to help heal damaged livers, help manage the symptoms of HIV, and even help to fight cancer cells. In addition to the physical benefits, it also helps to relieve anxiety and stress. It’s important to note that although CBD oil is derived from the cannabis plant, CBD doesn’t contain any of the psychoactive properties found in marijuana. Before resorting to traditional chemical remedies for your ailment, be sure to research the natural solutions that can help relieve your symptoms. Backed by the validity of scientific research, many reputable vendors have sprung up to support the increased need for natural remedies. The list is fascinating, so even if you haven’t yet investigated CBD oil, you can be sure that you’ll hear more about it in the upcoming years.

Chia Seeds

You might have heard of chia seed pudding. You might have even tried some chia seed jam, but you don’t yet know what all the fuss is about. Chia seeds, small, gray, and unassuming, are a superfood–and there’s a reason for their rise in popularity. The seeds are dense with nutrients and often give a huge energy boost to anyone eating them. The seeds were prized by Aztec warriors for those very properties, who claimed that one spoonful of the seeds could sustain them for 24 hours (now that’s a superfood). High in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, and a good source of omega 3, protein, and dietary fiber, chia seeds have just about everything. You can eat them dry or soaked, but soaking tends to help release the nutrients.

5 Tips to finding a business loan - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

A loan has in the past been misunderstood as a great debt and a lot of trouble that one cannot get into. The confusion and the fear of a loan can become a great deal when the lenders impose such great interest rates and ask for way too much collateral. A loan might be what you need to take you to the next level, be it in your business, your projects or your building. Here are some few tips on how to find a business loan:

  • Prepare all your documents. When applying for a loan, the process requires a lot of documentation. The lender needs to see your documents and verify them. You need to fill out and sign a form of agreement between you and the lender on the amount of loan, the terms and condition, the interest and the duration. You should be ready with your documents such as the passports, credit cards, bank accounts, and tax return documents. To ease and fasten your loan, prepare all your documents.
  • Apply for the right amount. Many are the times that we underestimate the amount of money you need. This could be dangerous to you since you will be left with unfinished projects and incur great costs with interest. At other times you may overestimate the amount and pay off the interest becomes a headache. It is for this reason that you should hire an accountant to give you the right estimation.
  • Have a good credit score. Lenders will not lend you money if you have a bad credit score. You should have and maintain a good credit score. This can be achieved by paying off your previous loan on time, never be late on filing your tax returns and your monthly contributions should always be on time and consistent. With this report, you will be viable for a loan from all lenders.
  • Make a plan. When applying for a loan, you need to map out a plan to the lender of how you plan to do with the money and also how you plan to pay the loan. You need to lay out a well-detailed cash flow document that is up to date in order to get a loan. You should have this as a personal financial statement. Consult an accountant if you need help.
  • Have good collateral. Collateral is the most expensive possessions you have that could be used to pay off your loan in case you don’t have the money or if you are unable to raise the money. Collateral can be a car, heavy machinery or the house. This should be a good motivation to pay off the loan as failure to which, you may lose your valued possession. The collateral should also have proper documentation.

In order to get a quick loan to boost you up your position, ensure that you do a good background check on the lender. Verify their documents and assess their transparency. Ensure you also go through all the paperwork to be conversant with all the requirements.

4 Top Search Engine Optimization Tactics for Any Business - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0

With more than 2 trillion searches a year on Google, putting your business at the forefront of searchers’ fingertips is vital. Consumers are searching for solutions to their problems. The keywords they’re typing in that relate to your business ideally put you at the top of their results.

But search engine optimization (SEO) has so many moving parts to put strategic thought into, it can be tough to know which strategies to focus on. SEO success is not just peppering your website with keywords you think will work and then calling it a day. If you’re new to SEO or are wondering why your efforts have stagnated, look at these four key areas where SEO success is built upon.

1. Research

Before you created a business plan, you probably researched the market and your competitors. The same principles relate to your visibility online. It’s vital to use a tool like the Google Keyword Planner to see:

  • What keywords people are typing that relate to your business
  • How much competition there is for those keywords
  • What detailed, longtail keywords have the potential to bring you business, which you may not have even realized

Keyword research saves you time before writing. It can help you strategize what pages to include throughout your website. Keywords give you a better idea of types of blogs you can write as a guest author for other sites. They can also clue you in to future business developments, showing you the products and services people are searching for the most in your industry.

2. Use Keywords to Drive Content

If you’ve ever been stuck for ideas about what to blog about or how to format your website, search no further. The keywords you discover in your research are great places to start with content ideation. Keywords, including both general keywords and longtail keywords, can be used to:

  • Build out site navigation
  • Inspire blog and video ideas for your website
  • Develop guest blogging opportunities
  • Determine URLs, headlines, subheads and image tags

Keywords to drive content are only successful when they are presented in a way that engages the user. Keyword stuffing, where you’re adding keywords nonsensically throughout copy, results in penalties from Google. Use keywords to give you ideas for how to better position your product and service to users, so that your content is more likely to show up in their searches.

3. Design for Mobile

One of the simplest ways to improve your SEO efforts is to design for mobile devices. In 2016, Google reported it’s moving towards mobile-first indexing. With more than 60 percent of searches coming from mobile devices now, the shift makes sense. If your website still requires pinching, zooming and turning the screen to try and read it, you’re not only frustrating your potential customers. You’re also going to suffer on search engines.

Design for mobile by making sure your site loads immediately upon a mobile visit. All tabs and pages should be easy to navigate. The screen’s content should read easily, requiring no adjustments to the device the user is on. Buttons should be easy to click. The user experience should be seamless and intuitive. The more time a user spends on a site, the more that serves as a signal to search engines that your website engages users, so don’t drive mobile users off it by frustrating them.

4. Link Build Naturally

One of the most important signals to search engines that your business website is authoritative and trustworthy is the links that point back to it. There are several types of linking that your business should be concerned with to help SEO efforts:

  • Internal linking is linking to other pages within your website throughout your website. One of the benefits of internal linking is that it provides more relevant content to users. As users consume more pages, they spend more time on a site. Your content becomes more shareable. Factors like these positively impact SEO.
  • External link building is getting your website linked on other authoritative sites. When a credible website links to yours, whether it’s by mentioning you in a blog post or by letting you guest author content and link back to your site, that’s a sign to search engines that your website is meaningful.
  • Linking out to external sites is featuring a link to another website on your own site. There are may reasons to do this. You want to improve the user experience for visitors, who will view your site as more trustworthy and consume more content on it. Externally linking sends a signal to the website that you’re linking to that you respect their site, which might encourage reciprocity or a beneficial relationship. Featuring a variety of authoritative links on your own website may also be a positive signal to search engines.

Like any type of content, you work on for your business, linking should be natural and improve the experience for the user. Slapping your link on tons of website comments, or blogging for poor quality websites, or going overboard with internal linking are all actions that can do more harm than good for your SEO.

Blend Onsite and Offsite SEO

As you can see, it’s important to pay attention to both SEO efforts on your own website, and to how your website performs throughout the web. Google has continually evolved to present searchers with the most useful information that is available based on each search. When your business takes the time to make your website experience one that is stimulating and valuable, it is more likely to reap SEO rewards.

What is an Office Fit Out and How Can It Benefit Your Business? - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0
0

Many people find themselves baffled as to the differences between the often discussed office fit out and office refurbishment. Whilst both are essential and effective for a functioning and productive work environment under different circumstances, there are key differences that set them apart as two distinct options for a business.

Whilst an office refurbishment entails the process of stripping and redoing a pre-existing space, the titular fit out includes the complete fitting of a space within a building that is yet to be developed or used.

This makes an office fit out an often necessary or desired option for businesses looking to move into a brand new building or workplace. If you are a small business in the process of expanding, this can be a particularly attractive way forward for your brand. Similarly, if you are one of the growing number of entrepreneurs in the UK looking to set up shop for the first time, this gives you a chance to make a place your own from the get go, in turn helping to establish a tone for your company.

The benefits to a complete office fit out are numerous. This provides you with a completely blank canvas on which you can craft the voice and identity for yourself. A fit out also presents you with the opportunity to establish a positive company ethos from which your workforce can learn, live and develop. This can lead to a happier, and in turn, more productive workforce. All vital ingredients to a business’s success whatever the industry.

An office fit out often entails much less disruption to your everyday work, especially as any potential refurbishment work would include changes to your current office. With a fit out however, your staff are able to continue working in their current office environment undisturbed, meanwhile the fit out work is undertaken elsewhere in your new space. No lost time means zero lost custom and income, a situation every business would do well to avoid.

Perhaps the greatest aspect of any office fit out is the flexibility and freedom it can offer in regard to structure, design and every other imaginable variable that makes up a complete office. This freedom enables a professional office fit company, such as London based Saracen Interiors, to tailor your new office to the specific needs of your workers and the business itself. Once again, this will lead to a more effective team, pulling in the same direction towards the same goal. Similarly, it allows you to put in place the streamlined working practices your business may thrive on.

One overlooked pro of choosing an office fit out is the vastly decreased likelihood of coming across any practical or logistical hurdles during the process. Whilst refurbishments require the stripping and working over of a pre-established space (often already an office), which can lead to several obstacles, an office fit out faces no such issues. The aforementioned blank canvas allows a business to do (almost) anything they like. If you’re a business seeking a bespoke simplicity in your next office move, look no further than an office fit out. Putting your own stamp on the place in which you work is an often-undervalued consideration. The long-lasting impact on staff, clients and the business as a whole cannot be stressed enough.

To sum up, if you are looking to refresh your working environment in a way befitting of your business’ ethos and identity, then an office fit out is the way to go. To get the most out of your brand and the workforce at its most productive, you cannot go wrong with a fit out.

Management Theories That Small Business Owners Should Embrace - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

0

Most of the leadership approaches used by people today are derived from popular theorists in the history of business and human resource management. They apply to all businesses whether small or big. If you are planning to start a small business anywhere in the world and have made arrangements with the work permit agencies for documentation, then it is time to equip yourself with the relevant management theories. This publication is the perfect document for you.

Henri Fayol’s Principles of Management

This French mining engineer is one of the main contributors to the management theories used in modern times. According to his analysis from the perspective of a manager, there are crucial functions of management, which include planning, forecasting, commanding, organizing and controlling.  However, this is not what he is known for. His 14 principles of management are what most, if not all, organizations use to guide their daily tasks.

Scientific Management of Frederick Taylor

He is known for initiating the study of how productive a worker can be and how to increase this productivity in the best way. The principles of scientific management have four pillars, which were derived from his research. He emphasized specialization and specialization in work to make sure that workers perform a job they are capable of doing. One of the drawbacks that came with his arguments was his lack of focus on humanity in favor of a focus on productivity alone. This hinders his theory’s full practice in today’s management of businesses and organizations.

Bureaucratic Management by Max Weber

Another common name in the study of management is that of Max Weber. His theory of management is commonly used because it promotes the use of set rules of governance in a hierarchical manner. What this means is that the top boss forms the apex of the triangle of hierarchy and that every person communicates to their juniors clearly all the way to the bottom. Another notable argument that he made is for a division of labor where each employee understands what she or he needs to do and the procedure for doing it. It rather ignores relationships and freedom among workers in favor of performance.

Theory X and Y of Douglas McGregor

Although this is not a popular theory that people use today, theory X and Y is still applicable. The two theories differ, and managers can choose the one to use in their companies. Theory X is applied if a manager feels that the staff needs an authoritative approach because they do not like the work. On the other hand, the boss can use theory Y if she or he feels that employees are self-driven and take initiative in what they do.

Human Relations Theory by Elton Mayo

The name Mayo is also common in today’s management approaches. The emphasis by this Australian psychologist was on handling employees who are not satisfied with the work they do. When he improved the working conditions, he noted that there was no change in productivity. So, he observed changes to different parameters like those of improved relations with the employees, and this worked well.

As a small business owner, you can take the right steps from the beginning by embracing these theories of management.
